Polyolefin compositions comprising: (A) 5-35% by weight of a propylene-based polymer containing 90% by weight or more of propylene units and containing 10% by weight or less of a fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C (XS A ); (B) 25-50% by weight, of an ethylene homopolymer containing 5% by weight or less of a fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C (XS B ) referred to the weight of (B); and (C) 30-60% by weight, of a copolymer of ethylene and propylene containing from 25% to 75% by weight of ethylene units and containing from 55% to 95% by weight, of a fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C (XS C ). The composition has 20% by weight or less of a fraction obtained in the second fractionation step in a preparative fractionation method.

A soft polyolefin composition comprising for producing sheets or membranes, the polyolefin composition comprising: (A) 18-35% by weight of a copolymer of propylene with at least one alpha-olefin, wherein the copolymer contains 2.0-4.0% by weight of alpha-olefin, the amount of alpha-olefin is based on the weight of (A) and has melt flow rate (MFRA) ranging from 30 to 60 g/10min; and (B) 65-82% by weight of a copolymer of propylene with at least one alpha-olefin, and optionally a diene, the copolymer comprising 20-35% by weight of alpha-olefin, the amount of alpha olefin being based on the weight of (B), wherein - the polyolefin composition comprises a fraction that is soluble in xylene at 25°C (XS(tot)) in an amount higher than 70% by weight; - the amounts of (A), (B) and of the fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C (XS(tot)) are based on the total weight of the polyolefin composition; and - the melt flow rate (MFR) of the polyolefin composition ranges from 0.2 to 2.0 g/10 min.

A copolymer of propylene with hexene-1 containing from 5 to 9% by weight of recurring units derived from hexene-1, having a melting temperature from 125°C to 140°C and Melt Flow Rate (ASTM D1238, 230°C/2.16 Kg) from 0.1 to 3 g/10 min., is used to produce blown films having valuable mechanical and optical properties.
