    Abstract: The invention relates to expandable olefin bead polymers which comprise a blowing agent with a boiling point of from -5 to 150° C., selected from the group consisting of alkanes, alkanols, ketones, ethers and esters. The particles are unfoamed and have a bulk density above 500 g/l, and can be foamed to a bulk density below 200 g/l after storage for one hour at room temperature in free contact with the atmosphere. They are prepared by impregnating polyolefin pellets in suspension in a pressure vessel with the blowing agent, cooling the batch below 100° C., reducing the pressure and isolating the particles.

Tyto kulicky se vyrábejí impregnací polyolefinových pelet nadouvadlem v suspenzi v tlakové nádobe, ochlazením sarze na teplotu nizsí nez 100 .degree.C, snízením tlaku a izolací cástic.

    Abstract: The invention relates to particle-shaped, expandable olefin polymers containing a foaming agent that has a boiling point between5 ~C and 150 ~C a nd is selected from an alkane, an alkanol, a ketone and an ether or an ester. T he particles are unfoamed and are provided with a bulk density of more than 500 g/l. After a storage time of one hour at room temperature and in a free atmosphere, the particles can be foamed in such a way that said particles ha ve a bulk density of less than 200 g/l. The particles are produced by impregnating polyolefin granules with the foaming agent in a suspension in a pressure container, by cooling the preparation to temperatures below 100 ~C and by expanding and separating the particles.
