Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer dispersion which provides improved mechanical properties such as flexibility and break strength, cohesive force and serviceable time to a hardened material for construction. SOLUTION: The aqueous polymer dispersion is obtained by polymerizing a) at least one kind of ester of acrylic acid and 2-12C alkanol of 40-80 mass%, b) at least one kind of aromatic vinyl monomer and/or at least one kind of ester of methacrylic acid and 1-4C alkanol of 10-40 mass% and c) at least one kind of monoester of 2-10C alkanediol and acrylic acid or methacrylic acid of 2-15 mass%. The dispersion free from ammonia.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cement composition which contains a re-dispersible polymer having high electrolyte stability. SOLUTION: This cement composition comprises cement as a base material and also contains 1-500 parts by mass (on the basis of 100 parts by mass of the cement) of a polymer consisting of (a) 30-99.5 mass % of at least one alkyl (meth)acrylate; (b) 0-70 mass % of at least one vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon; (c) 0.5-10 mass % of at least one alkyl polyethoxy(meth)acrylate represented by formula 1 (wherein: R1 is an H atom or methyl group; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl group; and (n) is an integer of 1-55); (e) 0-10 mass % of acylonitrile or methacrylonitrile; and (f) 0-50 mass % of an ethylenically unsaturated compound other than the above components (a)-(e).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a protective device against the effects of water, with an at least partly water-permeable shell, which comprises a mixture of sand and a water-insoluble, redispersible, synthetic polymer powder, whereby the polymer has a glass transition temperature of less than 50 DEG C. Said protective device has improved mechanical rigidity and water resistance.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermally hardenable polymer dispersion powder and the use of said powder as a binding agent in particular for fibrous and grainy materials. The binding agent in powder form is obtained by drying a polymer dispersion which comprises a carboxyl-group-containing polymerization component in addition to, optionally, a hydroxy-alkylated amine.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A description is given of a polymer dispersion comprising i) polymer particles dispersed in an aqueous medium and composed of units of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, ii) a water-soluble polymeric polyelectrolyte which along a polymeric backbone carries a large number of ionic groups of uniform charge character or groups which can be ionized to such groups, and iii) an ionic surfactant which carries an ionic group having a charge character opposite to that of the polymeric polyelectrolyte, or a group which can be ionized to such a group. The polymer dispersion can be coagulated by simple dilution with water.
Abstract:
