The novel (meth)acrylate copolymers which contain terminal nitro, trifluoromethyl, cyano or fulven-6-yl groups as electron acceptors and have molar ratios A to B differing from those mentioned above are also suitable for intended uses outside nonlinear optics.

    Abstract: The invention relates to disulphides of the general formula X -(CH2)n-S-S-(CH2)n-X in which X and X are identical to one another and represent -Br, -N-phthalimide, -NH2, -OOC-(CH2)3-COOH, -O-SO2-CH3, -NH-(CH2)2- NH2, -SO3H or -SO3 M where M = an alkali metal ion, and n = 11 to 25, or X represents -OH and X represents -Br or X and X represent -COO-CH2-CH3 and n = 10 to 25, and to a process for their preparation. These disulphides are suitable for the preparation of monomolecular layers on noble metal supports and for the building up of multimolecular layers.

    Abstract: A process for producing moldings containing ester and urethane groups and having a cellular core and a compacted surface zone, preferably shoe soles, comprises reacting a) isocyanate semiprepolymers containing ester groups and having an isocyanate content of from 10 to 26% by weight, which in turn are prepared by reacting ai) 4,4'-MDI or mixtures of 4,4'-MDI and modified or unmodified MDI isomers, with aii) difunctional to trifunctional polyester polyols having molecular weights of from 600 to 3000 and aiii) at least one branched-chain dihydroxy compound containing at least one bonded ester unit as bridge and having a molecular weight of up to 500, with b) at least one relatively high molecular weight polyhydroxyl compound and, if desired, c) low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of d) blowing agents, e) catalysts and, if desired, f) additives in a closed mold with compaction. The isocyanate semiprepolymers containing ester groups which can be used in this process are liquid at room temperature.
