Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing 2-alkynoic acid esters of general formula (I): R -O-CO-CC-R wherein R and R can independently mean C1-16-alkyl, C6-12-aryl, C7-12-aralkyl or C7-12-aralkyl radicals and R can also mean hydrogen, by reacting a chloroformate of general formula (II): R -O-CO-C1 with an alkyne of general formula (III): R -CC-H in the presence of a Pt and or Pd complex with phosphine ligands and/or phosphite ligands.
