Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding materials (I) are claimed, contg. (A) 50-99.5 wt.% polyoxymethylene homo- or copolymer, (B) 0.1-9 wt.% polymer with in-chain imide gps. of formula (II), (C) 0-50 wt.% impact-modifying polymer and (D) 0-50 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate filler, R1, R2 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 6-18C aryl, R3 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 5-12C cycloalkyl or 6-18C aryl. More specifically, R1, R2 = H or Me and R3 = H, 1-4C alkyl-cyclohexyl or benzyl contain 60-98 wt.% (A) and 5-8 wt.% (B) and component (B) contains 0.1-100% imide gps. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for producing fibres, film and moulded prods. (claimed). Also claimed are moulded prods. based on (I). Provides polyoxymethylene moulding materials with improved thermal stability and UV stability, which give moulded prods. with good colour and surface quality. (I) are esp. useful for external parts of cars, e.g. tank caps.

Abstract: Materials (I) are based on (A) 2-97.5 wt.% polyoxymethylene homo- or co-polymer; (B) 2-97.5 wt.% polyester; (C) 0-95.5 wt.% polyamide; (D) 0.5-25 wt.% polycondensation prod. of Bisphenol-A and epichlorhydrin; (E) 0-60 wt.% impact-modifying polymer; (F) 0-70 wt.% polycarbonate; and (G) -60 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate fillers. Pref. (A) has a m.pt. of at lesat 150 deg.C and a mol.wt. 7000-150,000, and is end gp. stabilised. (B) is PET, PBT, etc. or a copolyether-ester such as Hytrel (RTM). (C) is PA 6, PA66, PA11, PA 612, etc.. (D) is e.g. Phenoxy or Epikote resin (RTM). (E) is EPM
