Abstract: A process for preparing esters from alcohol and carboxylic acid by a) feeding a mixture, comprising at least alcohol and/or carboxylic acid as educts, into a distillation column with separated sections containing reactive and conventional internals, wherein the reactive internals are arranged below the inlet of the mixture and conventional internals are arranged above the inlet of the mixture, b) reaction of the alcohol and the carboxylic acid in the reactive internals in presence of a catalyst, c) distillative separation of the evolving reaction mixture into the higher boiling ester and a lower boiling azeotrope containing alcohol, water and ester, wherein the ester accumulates in the bottom and the azeotrope is removed overhead, d) separation of the azeotrope in a phase separator in an aqueous phase and in an organic phase and the organic phase to be returned to the top of the column, wherein in step b) a heterogenous catalyst is utilized and in step c) the ester is taken off above the bottom as pure product between further conventional internals which differ in their arrangement from those in step a) and which are arranged above the inlet of a circulating evaporator.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining isobutene from conjugated hydrocarbons. Said method comprises the following steps; a) placing C4-hydrocarbon with a C3- or C4-primary alkanol; b) reacting isobutene in conjugated C4-hydrocarbons with C3- or C4-primary alkanol in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst to obtain the corresponding isobutene-based tertiary ether; c) causing fractionation of the accumulated reaction mixture into non ethereal C4-hydrocarbons with a low boiling point and isobutene-based tertiary ether with a high boiling point by using a fractionating tower, said C4-hydrocarbons being removed by the head while the isobutene-based tertiary ether accumulated on the bottom is fed into a reactor; d) causing fission of said ether, thereby obtaining isobutene and the corresponding primary C3-C4-alkanol; e) distilling the blending resulting from step d) by using another fractionating tower, and removing the isobutene as an overhead. Step a) is carried out in an area (4C) containing the reaction ingredients in which the catalyst is placed to complete step b); the area (4C) is part of a fractionating tower (4); in said area (4C9 is effected a reaction fractionation; C3- or C4-alkanol is fed upstream from area (4C) of the fractionating tower (4), and the conjugated C4-hydrocarbons downstream from said area (4C).

Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de ésteres a partir de alcohol y de ácido carboxílico mediante a) la alimentación de una mezcla, que comprende al menos alcohol y/o ácido carboxílico en forma de educto, en una columna de destilación que presenta secciones separadas, que comprenden inserciones reactivas y convencionales, estando dispuestas las inserciones reactivas por debajo de la entrada de la mezcla y las inserciones convencionales por encima de la entrada de la mezcla, b) la reacción del alcohol y del ácido carboxílico en las inserciones reactivas en presencia de un catalizador, c) la separación por destilación de las mezcla de la reacción en éster de elevado punto de ebullición y azeótropo de bajo punto de ebullición, que contiene alcohol, agua y éster, acumulándose el éster en la cola y el azeótropo es separado por la cabeza, d) la separación del azeótropo en un separador de fases en una fase acuosa y en una fase orgánica y la fase orgánica se envía de nuevo hasta la cabeza de la columna, utilizándose en la etapa b) un catalizador heterogéneo y en la etapa c) el éster es retirado por encima de la cola en forma de producto puro entre otras inserciones convencionales que difieren en su disposición de la de la etapa a) y que están dispuestas por encima de la entrada de un evaporador con circulación.

Abstract: Production of an ester (I) from alcohol (II) and carboxylic acid (III) involves (a) passing a mixture containing (II) and/or (III) into a distillation column with separate zones for reactive inserts (A) below, and conventional inserts (B) above, the inlet; (b) reacting (II) with (III) on the reactive inserts in the presence of a catalyst; (c) separating the reaction mixture into higher-boiling (I) in the reboiler and lower-boiling azeotrope of (II), water and (I) at the top; and (d) phase separation of the azeotrope into an organic phase, which is recycled, and an aqueous phase. Specifically, (i) a heterogeneous catalyst is used in stage (b); and (ii) (I) is discharged as pure product above the reboiler inlet and between other conventional inserts (C), which are different from inserts (B). Also claimed is the plant used in the process.
