PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the total ratio of a harmful substance, especially, nitrogen oxides in gas by supplying the gas at 200 deg.C or lower if possible according to circumstances in the presence of water and/or steam. SOLUTION: At least part of nitrogen oxides, especially, NO and NOx are extracted from gas to be purified within at least a part of a range within a temp. range of 50-300 deg.C, if possible, 50-150 deg.C. In order to extract nitrogen oxides, a temporary storage apparatus 2 formed from a storage material and a carrier material therefor is used. This temporary storage apparatus 2 especially has a compsn. of a chemical formula Ag.CuAl2 O4 in an Al2 O3 matrix and this compsn. is a spinnel or a spinnel like crystal and has a peculiar spinnel line in an X-ray spectrum. The extracted gas is again delivered to gas to be catalized at 100 deg.C or higher and continuously reduced catalytically.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide catalyst composition by which oxidation of SOx in exhaust combustion gas containing oxygen is mostly avoided and also NOx is reduced. SOLUTION: TiO2 , WO3 and V2 O5 are contained in the catalyst composition for reduction of NOx . Distribution of pore diameter at least on both sides is in the ranges within 5-30nm and 45-100nm. V2 O5 is mainly distributed in the whole of larger pore in the distribution of pore diameter at least on both sides. In a method for producing the catalyst composition, firstly TiO2 , WO3 and an arbitrary additive are kneaded/mixed. V2 O5 or its precursor is dissolved in a solvent. The obtained solution is mixed with an organic polymer. Then, the solution mixed with the above-mentioned polymer is mixed with the first mixture. The produced composition is molded, dried and burned.

The invention relates to a method for producing esters of an acid component chosen from the multibasic C4-C10-carboxylic acids and an alcohol component chosen from C3-C12-alkanols or -alkanediols whose alkyl chain can be interrupted by 1 to 3 oxygen atoms. Sad method comprises the following steps : a) a mixture consisting essentially of the acid component or an anhydride thereof and the alcohol component is heated to boiling in a reaction zone in the presence of an esterification catalyst; b) the vapours containing alcoho l and water are separated into a fragment that is rich in alcohol and a fragme nt that is rich in water by rectification; and c) the alcohol-rich fraction is fed back into the reaction zone, while the water-rich fraction is extracted from the process. The inventive method is simple to carry out and allows the rapid adjustment of an essentially quantitative conversion.
