    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain nonfreezing concentrate to which all kinds of metals used in engines, particularly aluminum, are corrosion-resistant, and is useful in motor cars and the like by admixing prescribed amounts of a specific carboxylate salt and a hydrocarbon triazole and the like to an alkylene glycol (derivative). SOLUTION: This is a nonfreezing concentrate free from silicate, borate and nitrate and comprises an alkylene glycol, for example, ethylene glycol, or its derivative, as a base material, (A) 0.05-10wt.% (based on the whole amount of' the concentrate) of' one or more alkali metal or (substituted) ammonium salts of' a 3-l6C carboxylic acid such as pentanoic acid or suberic acid and (B) 0.01-(3wt.% of one or more hydrocarbon triazole and/or hydrocarbon thiazole, particularly benzotriazole and/or tolutriazole, in addition, preferably (C) 1wt.% of a hard water stabilizer, for example, polyacrylic acid. This nonfreezing concentrate is admixed to water in an amount of 10-90wt.% to give a water-based coolant composition.
