    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject catalyst which can produce a polymer, for example, an α-olefin polymer of a high molecular weight as well as narrow molecular weight distribution by allowing a chromium compound to coalesce into the catalyst-supporting material and firing the coalesced product. SOLUTION: (A) A chromium compound is allowed to coalesce into (B) the supporting material and they are fired at 400-1,100 deg.C, then treated with (C) a moisture and inactive gas mixture. The component A is SiO2 , Al2 O3 , MgO, ZrO2 , TiO2 , B2 O3 , CaO, ZnO or their mixture or silica gel. The treatment with the component C is preferably carried out in a gas-phase fluidized bed at 20-100 deg.C and nitrogen or a rare gas such as argon is preferably used as the component C.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous gas phase fluidization method for producing ethylene homopolymerisates and copolymerisates with a density (d) of 0.87 to 0.97 g/cm . According to said method, ethylene or mixtures of ethylene and C3- to C8- alpha -monoolefins are (co)polymerised in the polymerisation zone of a gas phase fluidized bed reactor at pressures of 1 to 100 bar and at temperatures of 30 to 125 DEG C in the gas phase in an intermixed bed of fine particulate polymerisate in the presence of a supported chromium catalyst. The polymerisation heat produced is evacuated by cooling the reactor gas, said reactor gas being guided in a closed circuit, and the resulting (co)polymerisate is transferred out of the gas phase fluidized bed reactor. In order to produce a (co)polymerisate of a pre-selected density (d), the (co)polymerisation is carried out at a temperature within a range limited by an upper envelope of equation (I) and a lower envelope of equation (II), the variables in said equations having the following meanings: TH = the highest reaction temperature in DEG C; TN = the lowest reaction temperature in DEG C; and d'= the numerical value of the density (d) of the (co)polymerisate to be produced.

Continuous gas phase polymerization for producing ethylene homopolymers and -copolymers, comprises polymerizing ethylene and/or monoolefin from but-1-en, pent-1-en, 2-methylpentene, hex-1-en, hept-1-en or oct-1-en, in the polymerization zone of a gas phase polymerization reactor at 30-125[deg]C and 1-100 bar in the gaseous phase in a finely divided polymer bed, in the presence of a metallocene catalyst in carrier form polymer, where a reactor gas is lead into the circle gas pipeline for the removal of the polymerization heat; and endowing a catalyst poison with boiling point higher than circle gas pipeline and molecular weight greater than 100 g/mol at a position after the reactor but before the cooler and compressor, for preventing polymer linings, such that the productivity of the catalyst is not essentially affected in the reactor.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for polymerizing alpha -olefins in a gaseous phase at a temperature ranging from 30 to 150 DEG C and at a pressure between 5 and 80 bars with a catalyst or a catalyst mixture which contains, as an antistatic agent, 0.1-5 wt. % ZnO and/or water-free MgO in relation to the total catalyst mixture. The inventive method excludes a method according to which the catalyst mixture contains a chrome catalyst and an MgO-based Ziegler catalyst which is modified with an alkene and alkylaluminium hydride and contains free MgO, the total MgO volume being no less than 2 wt. % of the catalyst mixture.
