    Abstract: A process for the preparation of homopolymers of ethylene or copolymers of ethylene with secondary amounts of other C3- to C12-alk-1-enes by catalytic polymerisation in a suspension or in the gas phase in the presence of an antistatic at a temperature of from 50 to 120 DEG C and at a pressure of from 5 to 50 bar, characterised in that the antistatic employed is a mixture of the following substances: a) a metal salt of medialanic acid of formula (I) , b) a metal salt of an anthranilic acid of formula (II) , where the organic radical R is either alpha ) -CO-(CH2)x-CH3 (III alpha ) or ss) -CO-(CH2)y-CH=CH-(CH2)z-CH3 (IIIss), where x, y and z are each an integer, and x is in the range from 6 to 18, y is in the range from 1 to 16, z is in the range from 1 to 16 and y + z is in the range from 4 to 17, and c) a polyamine obtainable by reacting epichlorohydrin with an aliphatic primary monoamine or an N-alkylalkylenediamine of the formula (IV> R NH-R -NH2 (IV), where R is a C8-C24-alkyl radical and R is a C2-C6-alkylene radical. d

    Abstract: The invention relates to the homopolymerisation or copolymerisation of ethene by means of a Ziegler catalyst system comprising (1) a transition-metal catalyst component, (2) an organoaluminium catalyst component and (3) an organohalogen catalyst component, characterised in that (1) is the solid-phase product (VI) obtained by (1.1) first combining (1.1.1) an inorganic oxide (1) as a support with (1.1.2) a solution (II) of (IIa) a certain oxahydrocarbon and (IIb) a mixture of (IIb1) a vanadium trichloride/alcohol complex, (IIb2) a titanium trihalide or titanium trihalide/alcohol complex and (IIC) a silicon or boron compound, to form a suspension (III), evaporating the latter to form a solid-phase intermediate (IV), and (1.2) then (1.2.1) combining the intermediate (IV) obtained from (1.1) with (1.2.2) a dissolved organoaluminium compound (V), to form a suspension, the solid-phase product (VI) resulting therefrom as the suspended material being the transition-metal catalyst component (1).
