Abstract: The moulding compsns. based on linear thermoplastic polyester (I) contg. flame retardant (II) and fibrous reinforcing filler (III) contains K titanate fibres as (III). The K titanate fibres pref. are 0.1-0.15 mu m. in dia., have a length/thickness ratio of ca. 40:1 and are used in an amt. of 5-20wt.% w.r.t. the total wt. of the moulding compsn. Polyester esp. polybutylene terephthalate compsns. can be prevented from dripping on burning without the addn. of asbestos. The compsns. can be processed on all the usual machines, e.g., extruders, rollers or kneaders.
