Abstract: Polyetherols based on solid initiator substances and liquid, hydroxyl-containing coinitiators are prepared by a catalyzed addition reaction of alkylene oxides by a process in which the initiator combination contains ethoxy structures, the ratio of the average number of hydroxyl groups per mole of initiator combination to the number of ethoxy structures in the polyetherol being from 1:0.2 to 1:1.8 and the ratio of the amounts by weight of the ethoxy structures to the average molecular weight of_the polyetherol being from 1:2 to 1:15. The polyetherols prepared by this process are used for the preparation of PUR, in particular rigid PUR foams.

Abstract: The production of rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam with a low bulk density (I) comprises reacting (a) polyisocyanates and/or modified polyisocyanates with (b) high-mol. wt. compound(s) with at least two reactive hydrogens and optionally (c) low-mol. wt. chain-extenders and/or crosslinkers in presence of (d) blowing agents, (e) catalysts and optionally (f) other additives etc. Component (d) consists of a mixture of (d-1) cyclopentane, (d-2) at least one 3-4C alkane and/or alkene which forms a homogeneous mixture with cyclopentane and (d-3) the carbon dioxide from the reaction of water and isocyanate. Component (b) comprises aromatic nitrogen-containing polyethers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of polyether alcohols by catalytic addition of alkylene oxides to H-functional initiators using amines as catalysts, wherein the addition of the amines to the reaction mixture is effected prior to or at the commencement of the chemical addition of the alkylene oxides and also at least once during the reaction, said additional addition of the catalyst being carried out at the point of the reaction at which there is an increased occurrence of side reactions and/or when the alkylene oxides undergo a change in the polyether chain.

Abstract: Los poliuretanos que tienen curacion mejorada se preparan haciendo reaccionar a) diisocianatos y/o poliisocianatos orgánicos y/o orgánicos modificados, con b) polioles de poliéter basados en aminas aromáticas, capaces de prepararse haciendo reaccionar combinaciones de amina específicas y, si se desea, co-iniciadores adicionales en una adicion molecular por etapas de oxido de alquileno, y también, si se desea, compuestos de peso molecular relativamente elevado adicionales que contienen por lo menos dos átomos de hidrogeno reactivos, y, si de desea, c) diluyentes y/o reticuladores de cadena de bajo peso molecular, en presencia de d) agentes hinchadores, e) catalizadores y, si se desea, f) auxiliares y/o aditivos adicionales, en donde la combinacion de amina específica usada en una mezcla de aminas de la serie de difenilmetano que consiste de 5 por ciento a 20 por ciento en peso de amina de 4 anillos, de 15 por ciento a 30 por ciento en peso de amina de 3 anillos, de 20 por ciento a 35 por ciento en peso de aminas que tienen más de 4 anillos y de 25 por ciento a 50 por ciento en peso de amina de 2 anillos, en donde las proporciones se suman hasta 100 por ciento en peso, en combinacion con aminas aromáticas adicionales.
