Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having a ferromagnetic metal layer on a nonmagnetic substrate and having a protective layer thereon which shows excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance by constituting the protective layer of a material expressed by specified formula. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic recording medium has at least one ferromagnetic metal layer on a nonmagnetic substrate and has a protective layer on the metal layer. The protective layer comprises a compd. expressed by formula X-(CH2 )n -(CF2 )m -Y. In the formula, X is H2 O3 P, HO3 S, NaO3 SS, HS or H3 C-SO3 , Y is CH3 or CF3 , n is an integer 3 to 11, and m is an integer 0 to 7. Thereby, the obtd. medium has excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and battery resistance, by containing a polymer binder composed of a monomer containing no fluorine, and a solid capable of reversibly catching or releasing a lithium ion in electrochemical reaction. SOLUTION: A graphite of 90g is stirringly added into the solution of a polyacrylic resin A of 1.84g in a tetrahydropyran of 75.13g, in a the tetrahydropyran of 75.13g, to perform stirring for 10 minutes. The resin A is copolymer composed of a 2-ethylhexyl acrylate of 95wt.%, and a monobutyl maleylate of 2wt.%, and is containing a cross linking agent of 2.5wt.%. The stirred dispersion liquid is moreover stirred for two hours by a roller stand, and then is applied a thin copper plate with a knife coater, to be dried and a resultant layer is dried at room temperature for 10 minutes, and moreover at 100 deg.C for 10 minutes. This can obtain an electrode capable of showing an excellent mechanical characteristic and also an excellent electrochemical characteristic to a lithium metallic plate, and reducing battery resistance, showing an excellent mechanical, at a low cost.

CONSTITUTION: A protective layer formed on a metal layer consists of a polyurethane having 500 to 10000 average mol.wt. This polyurethane is obtd. by the following reaction. An isocyanate expressed by formula Q-(NCO)z is made to react with a compd. expressed by formula Rf -A-B and/or a compd. expressed by formula X-RH-B. In formulae, Q is an alkyl, cycloalkyl or heterocycloalkyl group, (z) is an integer 1 to 5, Rf is a perfluoro (cyclo) alkyl or perfluoroalkyl aryl group having 3 to 30 carbon atoms, A is -(CH2 )n -, wherein(n)= 1 to 10, B is -OH, =NK, -NH2 or -(COOH), RH is an alkyl or cycloalkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and X is -H, -OH, =NH, -NH2 , -SO3 H or -SO3 Na.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having a ferromagnetic metal layer on a nonmagnetic substrate and having a protective layer thereon which shows excellent durability against repeated use by constituting the protective layer of a component expressed by specified formula. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic recording medium consists of a nonmagnetic substrate, at least one ferromagnetic metal layer on the substrate and a protective layer on the metal layer. This protective layer is formed of a compsn. expressed by formula Z-(CF2 )m -(CH2 )n -X-Y-(CH2 )n -(CF2 )m -Z. In formula, X is -S- or -CHOH, Y is -S- or -C=O, Z is -CH3 , -CF3 or -CH=CH2 , n is an integer 2 to 17, and m is an integer 0 to 7. Thereby, the obtd. magnetic recording medium has excellent surface mechanical characteristics showing special durability even when it is repeatedly used, and the medium is extremely stable against corrosion of the metal thin film by air of humidity in air. Therefore, a recording medium having excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance can be obtd.
