Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a tape pressing element, especially the tape pressing element having an improved and advantageous embodiment for a recording system wherein the number of track exceeds ten lines and a stationary head is provided with. CONSTITUTION: A tape/head contact is produced by pressing a magnetic tape 11 to the head 14. Here, the weight per unit length of the fiber is specified to be 0.1-5g/10000m, and the weight per unit area of the fiber is specified to be about 20-300g/m . The fiber is mutually, in particular, mechanically combined, and at least a part of the tape pressing element 8 is formed in the shape of a layer 9. The pressure is uniformly applied to all over the width of the magnetic tape 11 with the layer 9.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a presser for tape-shaped recording carrier and a cassette with the same. CONSTITUTION: Concerning a recording carrier 10, a tape pressing member 31 is arranged and a supporting member 32, for which that member 31 is held by a holding member 13, is provided. In that case, the reversible distortion of the supporting member 32 and tape pressing member 31 is propagated to the holding member 31 in the state of operating a detecting member 20 and thus the recording carrier is pressed toward the detecting member by providing the presser for tape-shaped recording carrier, especially, for magnetic tape and the cassette with the same.
