Abstract: Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Hydrierung von organischen Nitrilen mit Wasserstoff in Gegenwart eines Katalysators in einem Reaktor, wobei der Katalysator als Formkörper in einem Festbett angeordnet ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Formkörper bei Kugelform oder Strangform jeweils einen Durchmesser von 3 mm oder weniger, bei Tablettenform eine Höhe von 4 mm oder weniger und bei allen anderen Geometrien jeweils einen Äquivalentdurchmesser L = 1/a' von 0,70 mm oder weniger aufweist, wobei a' die externe Oberfläche per Volumeneinheit (mm s 2 /mm p 3 ) ist, mit: (I) wobei A p die externe Oberfläche des Katalysatorpartikels (mm s 2 ) und V p das Volumen des Katalysatorpartikels (mm p 3 ) ist. Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Folgeprodukten von Isophorondiamin (IPDA) bzw. N,N- Dimethylaminopropylamin (DMAPA) aus erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Aminen.
