Abstract:
Disclosed are graft copolymers based on a polyamide that is reacted with maleic anhydride and contains at least one vinylically unsaturated side chain, said grafted side chain containing at least one representative selected from a) N-vinylcaprolactam and/or b) N-vinylpyrrolidone. Natural and synthetic polyamides, inter alia, are used as preferred polyamide components. Such graft copolymers and polyamide-based graft copolymers in general which are composed of at least one side chain containing ethylenically unsaturated compounds are generally suitable in construction-related chemical applications, for developing, exploiting, and completing underground crude oil and natural gas reservoirs, in deep wells, and for conducting and transporting oil or gas, in the last instance especially as a gas hydrate inhibitor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of hydrophobically associating macromonomers M and to the novel macromonomers produced by the inventive method. The macromonomers M comprise a copolymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated group and a polyether structure in block form which comprises a polyethylenoxy block and a hydrophobic polyalkylenoxy block consisting of alkylenoxy-units with at least 4 carbon atoms. Optionally, the macromonomers M may comprise a terminal polyethylenoxy block. The macromonomers produced by the inventive method are suitable for reaction with other monomers, in particular with acrylamide, to form a water-soluble, hydrophobically associating copolymer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to water-soluble, hydrophobically associating copolymers containing novel hydrophobically associating monomers. The monomers comprise an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polyether group with a block structure consisting of a hydrophilic polyalkylene oxide block, which essentially consists of ethylene oxide groups, and of a terminal, hydrophobic polyalkylene oxide block, which consists of alkylene oxides with at least 4 and preferably at least 5 carbon atoms.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the tertiary recovery of petroleum from underground deposits having a deposit temperature of = 70°C, wherein a copolymer comprising (meth)acrylamide or derivatives thereof, monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids, in particular acrylic acid, and an associative monomer is used, wherein the amount of the associative monomer is 0.1 to 0.9 wt%. A water-soluble copolymer comprising (meth)acrylamide or derivatives thereof, monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids, in particular acrylic acid, and 0.1 to 0.9 wt% of an associative monomer.
