Abstract:
The invention relates to water-soluble, hydrophobically associating copolymers containing novel hydrophobically associating monomers. The monomers comprise an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polyether group with a block structure consisting of a hydrophilic polyalkylene oxide block, which essentially consists of ethylene oxide groups, and of a terminal, hydrophobic polyalkylene oxide block, which consists of alkylene oxides with at least 4 and preferably at least 5 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous dispersion comprising (A) a copolymer incorporating by polymerization (a) at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or the anhydride thereof, (b) at least one non-ionic ethylenically unsaturated surfactant monomer of the general formula I R1-O-(CH2-CHR2-O)n-CO-C(R3)=CH2 (I) R1-O-(CH2-CHR2-O)n-O-(CH2)mCH=CH2 (II), wherein R1 is substantially unbranched C6-C30-Alkyl, R2 is the same or different and is hydrogen or methyl, R3 is hydrogen or methyl, and n is a whole number in the range from 2 to 100, and m is zero or one, (c) at least one C1-C2-alkylmethacrylate, (d) at least one C2-C4-alkylacrylate, and (B) a colorant.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer incorporating by polymerization units of a) at least one ethylene unsaturated carbonic acid, b) at least one non-ionic ethylene unsaturated tenside monomer, c) at least one C1-C2-alkylmethacrylate, d) at least one C2-C4-alkylacrylate, the alkyl chain length averaged over the number of alkyl groups of the alkylacrylate being 2.1 to 4.0. After neutralization using alkali, the dispersion serves as an associative thickener, particularly for liquid washing and cleaning agent formulations. The thickeners are characterized by high transparency and high thickening effectiveness at simultaneously high shear dilution.
Abstract:
A method is described for producing an aqueous thickener dispersion from a monomer composition made of at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrophobic monomer, (i) an at least partially polymerized pre-emulsion being produced from to 80 wt.-% of said monomer composition, and (ii) the residual quantity of said monomer composition being added completely to the at least partially polymerized pre-emulsion and initiating a radical polymerization. The monomer composition preferably also comprises an associative monomer. The method avoids disadvantages of batch polymerization, such as inadequate batch-to-batch reproducibility and safety problems.
Abstract:
The invention relates to improved novel carrier fluids for abrasives, especially cutting fluids, for wafer production. The invention also relates to the use of said fluids and to a method for cutting wafers.
