    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new organoplatinum complex, an amino group-bearing. organoplatinum complex with the amine thermal dissociation temperature higher than the boiling point of the amine, soluble to organic solvents, causing no amine subdecomposition, and suitable as a material for electrodes, material for decoration, etc. SOLUTION: This new organoplatinum complex is shown by the formula [R1 to R3 are such that at least one of them is a (saturated, unsaturated, aromatic, straight-chain or branched) hydrocarbon group, the rest being H; the number of carbon atoms of R1 to R3 sums to >=10; X is a monovalent anion], with the amine thermal dissociation temperature higher than the boiling point of the amine, and useful as e.g. a material for electrodes, material for decoration, for e.g. electron-releasing elements, image-forming devices. This organoplatinum complex is obtained by the following process: two chemical equivalents of di-n-octylamine or the like is added to an aqueous solution of a compound of the formula K [Pt(II)Cl4 ], the whole system is then heated to 80 deg.C and agitated for 2h to carry out a reaction; the resultant system is brought to room temperature again and then subjected to extraction with chloroform; the resultant liquid extract is dehydrated and dried, followed by removing the chloroform from the extract.

When a current is carried between the electrodes 2, 3, a place, where structure change such as braking, deformation, alteration, or the like is locally brought about in the conductive thin film 4, is formed, and the place constitutes an electron emission portion 5. Further the same acts as a surface active agent so as to be effective in wetting control of the substrate, the electrodes, and the like.

It is also preferable to attach a secular-finished metallic plate 1 to the prism 2 forming the window of the cell.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an electron source manufacturing equipment and to simplify its operability, by providing a container to cover a part of the region where a conductive body is formed on a base surface, a means of introducing a gas to the container connected to the outlet of the gas, and a means of evacuating the container, and a means of applying a voltage to the conductor. SOLUTION: A supporting body 11 holds and fixes an electron base 10, and a vacuum container 12 of glass or stainless steel covers the region where a conductor is formed except for a wiring part to take out the electron source base 10. An organic gas material 21 and a carrier gas 22 are mixed at a fixed rate, and are introduced into the vacuum container 12 from an inlet 15. Mixed gas introduced is exhausted at a fixed exhausting speed by a vacuum pump 26 through an outlet 16, and a pressure in the vacuum container 12 is kept at a constant level. Since the vacuum container 12 is required to cover only the conductor on the electron source base 10, the equipment can be miniaturized, and since the wiring part of the electron source base 10 is outside the vacuum container 12, it can be easily and electrically connected to a driving driver 32.
