Abstract: In airtight container manufacturing method including sealing a through-hole by a cover, it secures sealing performance and restrains sealant from flowing into the through-hole. The method comprises: (a) exhausting inside of a container (1) through the through-hole (5); (b) arranging a spacer (32) along periphery of the through-hole on an outer surface of the container the inside of which has been exhausted; (c) arranging a plate (8) so that the spacer and the through-hole are covered by the plate and gap is formed along a side surface of the spacer between the plate and the container outer surface; and (d) arranging the cover (13) to cover the plate and bonding the cover and the container outer surface via sealant (12) positioned between the cover and the container outer surface, wherein the sealing includes hardening the sealant after deforming the sealant as pressing the plate by the cover so that the gap is infilled with the sealant.

Abstract: A probe for use in an apparatus for effecting information reading and/or information input on an information carrier member by closely positioning the probe thereto is formed by the following manner. An electrode is placed to a portion of the probe where the end portion is to be formed distance information between the end portion forming part of the probe and the electrode is detected. The relative position of the end portion forming part of the probe to the electrode is controlled on the basis of the detection result. A voltage is applied to the end portion forming part of the probe through the electrode under the relative position control, thereby forming the end portion of the probe. This probe forming method can be applied to an information reading and/or inputting apparatus. By re-forming the end of the probe, the deterioration of the performance in the apparatus due to the damage of the probe can be prevented to thereby obtain a high reliable performance.

Abstract: An information detection apparatus is disclosed. A plurality of probes are arranged in the apparatus so as to face a medium which carries an information. Each of the plurality of probes produces a detection signal from the medium. A performance testing device is provided in the apparatus for testing the performance of each of the plurality of probes. A detection device in the apparatus selects the signal from at least one normal probe on the basis of the test result of the testing device and detects the information in accordance with the selected signal. By such the construction in the apparatus, the detection of the information can be continuously effected even if one of the probes is broken.
