    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To profitably and efficiently obtain an animal feed additive having excellent flowability by adding an alkali (ne earth)metal hydroxide, or the like, to a fermentation broth containing D-pantothenic acid(salt) and then subjecting the mixture to a spray-drying treatment, or the like. SOLUTION: This animal feed additive is obtained by perfectly or partially separating a biomass and/or several other components from a fermentation broth containing D-pantothenic acid and/or one or more salts thereof selected from the group consisting of sodium, potassium, ammonium, magnesium and calcium salt thereof, adding an alkali (ne earth) metal hydroxide or oxide to the residual broth, and then (spray-)drying or (spray-)granulating the mixture to obtain the solid, particulate or granular easily flowable animal feed additive. The (hydr)oxide of the metal selected from the group consisting of the sodium, potassium, ammonium, magnesium and calcium compounds is preferably added in a stoichiometric ratio of 0.8 to 1.2 to the D-pantothenic acid.

    Abstract: 2. Animal feed additives based on fermentation broth further contain, in addition to the additive, other fermentation broth constituents. Such products, after spray-drying, generally have an excessively low bulk density and/or are sticky. To granulate these products, processing aids have therefore been added, e.g. perlite or sawdust. Alternatively, such products have been dewatered by azeotropic distillation with paraffin oil to give granules. The object of the invention is a highly concentrated animal feed additive which, in particular, is to have a bulk density of at least 550 kg/m and a standardisable active compound content. 2.2. By pelletising, stable granules can be produced from an animal feed additive-containing fermentation broth if the fermentation product is contained at at least 33% by weight.     Abstract: 2.1. Fermentative preparation of amino acids for animal feed supplement purposes is a complex process, since the amino acid is present in the fermentation broth at only a few percent. Drying the crude fermentation broth and using it as such generally led to aggregating sticky products or to products having too low a supplementary amino acid content. Using the new animal feed supplement and preparation process, a supplementary amino acid is intended to be made available which is not too expensive, not excessively hygroscopic or sticky, and whose contents can be standardised. 2.2. The animal feed supplement is based on a fermentation broth and contains the majority of its components, if required, with the exception of part of the biomass. Preferably, the biomass is present at no more than 10 % by weight of the dry matter. Proteins are preferably present at up to a maximum of 10 % by weight. For the production, during fermentation, at least towards the end, the sugar content is adjusted to a value of at most 4 g/l and during further processing, if required, at least a part of the biomass is separated off. 2.3. Supplementation or preparation of animal feed agents or premixes, in particular containing lysine.
