    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink mixture, especially, an ink jet ink having improved water resistance by using at least one silane or organosilicon compound. SOLUTION: The silane may be added to a precursor for producing a water- base ink mixture or to a finished water-base ink mixture. The silane may be added in a concentration of 0.1-15 wt.%, desirably, 0.5-2.5 wt.% to an ink composition. It is desirable that the silane used is octyltrimethoxysilane or hexadecyltrimethoxysilane. The silane may be used in the form of an aqueous emulsion. The ink mixture may be a water-containing and/or solvent-containing one. In order to improve the water resistance, it is possible to add hydrophobic silicic acid. The ink mixture is produced by adding an organosilane emulsion and optionally, pyrolytic hydrophobic silicon dioxide to a water-based pigment mixture optionally containing a surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a concrete with which concrete member or buildings can be effectively protected from corrosion by adding an emulsion containing a hydrolyzable org. silicon compd. to a concrete mixture comprising an inorg. component, a small amt. of org. component and water. SOLUTION: In the production of a concrete, an org. silicon compd. expressed by the formula, and if necessary, aq. emulsion containing its condensate are added to a water-contg. mixture comprising an ironing. component usually used, and if necessary, a small amt. of org. component in the mixing process of the concrete or after mixing. In the formula, R is a1-3C alkyl; R is a1-20C alkyl or phenyl: (a) is 0 or 1; (b) is 1 or 2;(c) is 1 to 18; X is H, Cl, Br, I, NH2 , SCN, CN, N3 an NHR, an N(R)2 , an N(R)3 , an aryl, Sx or absent; R is same as R ; (x) is 1 to 6. The amt. of the org. compd. or the emulsion added is 0.1 to 10 wt.% of the cement. The mixture is hardened to obtain a concrete which can be made hydrophobic in a block state.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject mixture useful for the production or the like of a vulcanizable plastic-rubber mixture by reacting a silylorganylpolysulfane or the like with a metallic cyanide compound and then reacting the resultant compound with a halogenalkylalkoxysilane. SOLUTION: A silylorganylpolysulfane (mixture) represented by formula I R to R are each a 1-8C alkyl and/or a 1-8C alkoxy group in which at least one thereof is the alkoxy group; R is a 1-8C bivalent alkylidene or a group represented by formula II [(y) is 1-4]; (n) is 2-20} is reacted with a nucleophilic compound represented by the formula M CN [M is an alkali metallic cation, a (substituted)ammonium ion, a half alkaline earth metallic ion or zinc ion] and the resultant compound is then reacted with a compound represented by formula III at a high temperature under a high pressure to afford a mixture of a bis(silylorganyl)polysulfane represented by formula IV [X is Sn when (x) is 2 and X is SCN when (x) is 1] with a silylorganyl thiocyanate useful as a phase transfer assistant or the like for incorporating an acidic substance in a rubber matrix for the production or the like of a vulcanizable mixture.

    Abstract: Preparation of bis(silylalkyl)disulphanes of formula (R R R SiR )2S2 (I) comprises (1) reacting silylalkyl polysulphide(s) of formula (R R R SiR )2Sn (II) with a nucleophilic compound (III) of formula M CN (IIIA), M 2SO3 (IIIB) or R R R P (IIIC) in an amount equimolar to the number of sulphur atoms to be removed from (II); (2) filtering the resultant solid; and (3) purifying (I). In the formulae, R -R , R -R = 1-8C alkyl and/or alkoxy, H or monovalent aryl, preferably phenyl, toluyl or benzyl; R = divalent 1-8C, preferably 2-4C alkylidene or a group of formula (IV); n = 3-20, preferably 3-10; and M = an alkali cation, optionally substituted ammonium ion or half alkaline earth or zinc ion. Preferably a mixture of (IIIA), (IIIB) and (IIIC) is used. Reaction is carried out in the presence of a solvent for (III) at a temperature between 20 degrees C and the b.pt. of the solvent, especially in a 2-phase system in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst.
