Abstract: The present invention provides a process for carrying out ion exchange in a cycle including loading and regenerating steps, the improvement in which at least the regeneration step, the liquid streams draining from the resin during the charging of the regenerating agent and during washing after the charging of the regenerating agent which still contain regenerating agent which can be utilized are intercepted as a single fraction, which is homogeneous with respect to composition and density, and this solution is reused in the next regeneration being recycled on the resin, both this reused fraction and fresh regenerating agent being passed over the resin in a countercurrent to the loading step.

Abstract: The present invention provides in a process for producing glycide by reacting allyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of tungsten compounds, distilling the excess allyl alcohol and the major portion of the water in vacuo, dividing the bottom mixture thus obtained at a temperature of from 110 to 220.degree.C and at a pressure of from 5 to 60 torr in a falling-film evaporator into an exhaust vapour consisting primarily of glycide, higher-boiling by-products and the residual portion of the water and a bottom product of glycerin, polyglycerin and the catalyst the improvement in which said exhaust vapour; upon leaving the falling-film evaporator is directly separated into glycide, water and higher boiling byproducts at a pressure of from 5 to 60 torr.

Abstract: Glycide is prepared by reacting allyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a tungsten compound as a catalysts the excess allyl alcohol and the greatest part of the water distilled off, the sump mixture obtained in the distillation is split at 110 DEG -220 DEG C. and 5 to 60 torr in a thin layer evaporator into a volatile portion which is predominantly glycide, high boiling by products and the residual part of the water and a sump portion of glycerine, polyglycerine and catalysts. The volatile liquid portion is broken into glycide, water and high boiling byproducts at 5 to 60 torr in a distillation apparatus directly connected to the thin layer evaporator.
