    Abstract: Mixtures of linear and cyclic amino-functional siloxane oligomers containing: (i) 3-aminopropyl, N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl or N'-(2-aminoethyl)-N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl groups; (ii) optional alkoxy groups; and (iii) (cyclo)alkyl, alkenyl or aryl groups. Mixtures of chain-type and cyclic siloxane oligomers of formula (I) and (II): R = (i) groups of formula -(CH2)3-NH2, -(CH2)3-NHR', -(CH2)3-NH-(CH2)2-NH2 or -(CH2)3-NH-(CH2)2-NH-(CH2)2-NH2, with not more than one aminopropyl-functional group of this type attached to a silicon atom, (ii) methoxy, ethoxy, 2-methoxyethoxy and/or propoxy groups, with a silicon/alkoxy group mol ratio of at least 0.5 and optionally (iii) 1-18C alkyl, alkenyl, iso-alkyl or cycloalkyl, or 6-12C aryl; R' = linear, branched or cyclic 1-18C alkyl, or 6-12C aryl; m = more than 2 and less than 30; n = 3-30 An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of these mixtures from mixtures of: (A) aminopropyl-functional trialkoxy- or methyldialkoxy-silanes; optionally (B) 1-18C alkyl-, alkenyl-, isoalkyl- or cycloalkyl-trialkoxysilanes and/or phenyl-trialkoxysilanes and/or corresponding methyldialkoxy silanes; and optionally (C) a tetra-alkoxysilane, by hydrolysis and condensation (in succession or as a mixture) at 10-95 degrees C with 0.6-1.2 mols water per 1 mol silicon and 0.1-5 times the weight of methanol or ethanol (based on alkoxysilanes), followed by distillation of alcohol at up to 120 degrees C under normal or reduced pressure.

    Abstract: Stable composition of water-soluble organosiloxanes, obtained by reacting water-soluble amino-alkoxy-silane (A) with insoluble alkenyl-alkoxy-silane (B), then adding water and removing alcohol, using (A) and water in amounts such as to enable reaction of all alkoxy groups in (B) and adjusting to pH 2-6 with acid. A stable composition of water-soluble organosiloxanes obtained by (a) reacting a water-soluble, amino-functional alkoxysilane (A) with water-insoluble alkenyl-functional alkoxy-silane(s) (B), (b) adding water and (c) removing the alcohol formed. The amounts of amino-silane (A) and water used are such as to enable reaction of all the alkoxy groups in (B) and to give a composition from which essentially no alcohol is liberated by hydrolysis on dilution with water. This composition is adjusted to a pH of 2-6 by adding an optionally aqueous organic or inorganic acid during and/or after the reaction. An Independent claim is also included for a process as described above for the production of such compositions.

    Abstract: Tetraalkoxysilane(s) and/or hydrocarbon-alkoxy silane(s) is subjected to controlled hydrolysis and precondensation by addition of water and acid to produce a siloxane reaction material. At least one aminoalkyl functional alkoxysilane is added to siloxane reaction mixture and alcohol is removed from reaction mixture to form mixture of aminoalkyl-, alkoxy-, and optionally alkyl- and hydroxy functional siloxanes. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) preparation of siloxane mixture; (2) organic resin composition which comprises organic resin and siloxane mixture; (3) method of making organic resin composition which involves incorporating siloxane mixture into organic resin; (4) paint composition which comprises a paint and siloxane mixture; (5) method of making paint composition which involves incorporating siloxane mixture into paint; (6) varnish composition which comprises a varnish and siloxane mixture; (7) method of making varnish composition which involves incorporating the siloxane mixture into varnish; (8) method of treating mineral, organic or metallic surface which involves applying the siloxane mixture to the surface; (9) method of hydrophobicizing a surface which involves applying the siloxane mixture to the surface; (10) method of surface-modifying a pulverulent substance which involves treating the substance with the siloxane mixture; and (11) method of silanizing fillers and pigments which involves treating filler or pigment with siloxane mixture.
