    Abstract: A novel organosilicon compound is claimed. The novel organosilicon compound is of formula R )(R )Si-R -S-Zn-S-R -Si(R )(R )(R (I). R - R = H, halogen or optionally branched alkyl or alkoxyl; and R = optionally branched alkylidene. Independent claims are also included for: (a) the preparation of (I) by reaction of a mercaptan compound of formula R )(R )Si-R -S-H (II) and a zinc alcoholate; (b) rubber mixtures containing compound (s) (I), rubber, filler and optional rubber additives; (c) preparation of the rubber mixtures by reaction of the components given in (b); and (d) mould forms comprising the rubber mixtures.
