    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance properties of a biofouling release coating for a sufficient time by exposing the surface of the biofouling release coating to a restorative compound. SOLUTION: The surface of a biofouling release coating preferably containing a silicone-based polymer, e.g. a polydialkylsiloxane of formula I R1 is hydroxyl or a group of formula II [R3 and R4 are each a hydrocarbon; (a) is 0 or 1]; R2 is a hydrocarbon or a fluorinated hydrocarbon; m is a number at which the viscosity of the compound of formula I becomes up to about 50,000 cp under an ambient condition of temperature and pressure} is exposed to a restorative compound, e.g. a polyorganosiloxane (e.g. a polyalkylsiloxane, a polymethylphenylsiloxane, a hydrophilic siloxane and a carbinol-functional siloxane), a crude oil product (e.g. a paraffin wax, a petroleum wax, a petrolactam, a grease) and a wax, preferably for 10 hr or more.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silicone adhesive composition capable of being cured at a room temperature, having desirable physical properties and containing a new adhesion promoter. SOLUTION: The room-temperature vulcanizable adhesive formulation comprise a bis(trialkoxysilylalkyl)hydromuconate as the adhesive promoter and the silicone composition preferably comprises a vinyl-containing polydiorganosiloxane in an amount of about 10-50 wt.%, a hydrogen-containing polysiloxane in an amount of about 1-15 wt.%, a catalytic amount of a hydrosilylation catalyst, an extending filler in an amount of about 0-50 wt.% and a reinforcing filler in an amount of about 0-70 wt.% based on the total composition.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a condensation curing coating composition improved in properties regarding room-temperature vulcanizable anti-fouling coating, especially preventive efficiency and effective life by compounding a specific composition and a specific polyorganosiloxane. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) a room- temperature vulcanizable polyorganosiloxane composition of one-pack type or two-pack type, (B) not less than one kind of polyorganosiloxane, which is free from a silanol group and containing one or more of polyoxyalkylenealkyl having a terminal hydroxyl or alkoxyl group in an amount of about 10-60 wt.%, having a function for blooming the surface of hardened product of the component A in an amount effective for marine anti-fouling acceleration, and optionally (C) a reaction product of these components. The component A preferably contains a reactive silicone, a condensation catalyst, a crosslinking agent, optionally a filler for reinforcement and extender (non reinforcement), etc.

SOLUTION: A polyorganosiloxane (A) having on average at least two Si- bonded org. groups having carbon-carbon double bonds, a polyorganosiloxane (B) having on average at least two Si-H groups and in an equivalent ratio to ingredient A of 1.1-1.6, and a suspension silica having a surface area of 100-600 m /g and in an amt. of 15-30 wt.% of ingredient A are compounded. Either one of ingredients A and B contains an internally functional polyorganosiloxane in an equivalent ratio to the total polyorganosiloxane of 0.3-0.7, and the other contains only a terminally functional polyorganosiloxane.
