    Abstract: A metallocene cpd. of formula (I) is new: In (I), M = Gp. IVb, Vb or VIb metal; R , R = H, 1-10C alkyl or alkoxy, 6-10C aryl or aryloxy, 2-10C alkenyl, 7-40C aralkyl, 8-40C aralkenyl, OH or halogen; R -R = H, halogen, opt. halogenated 1-20C hydrocarbyl, -NR2, -SR, -OR, -OSiR3, -SiR3 or -PR2 (with R = halogen, 1-10C alkyl or 6-10C aryl); or two or more of these gps. may form a ring system with the attached atoms; and R '-R ' = as for R -R . Also claimed are: (i) olefin polymerisation catalysts contg. cpd(s). (I) and a co-catalyst; and (ii) a process for the prodn. of olefin polymers by (co)polymerisation of olefins in the presence of (I) and a co-catalyst.
