Abstract: Phosphorus-modified epoxy resins with an epoxide value of 0-1 mole/100g contain structural units derived from (A) polyepoxide cpds. with at least 2 epoxide gps./mol. ,and (B) phosphinic and/or phosphonic acid anhydrides, and also contain at least one phenolic antioxidant. Also claimed are moulded prods., coatings and laminates made from these resins. Pref. units (A) have a mean mol. wt. (Mn) of 150-4000, and are derived from polyepoxide cpds. with 2-6 epoxide gps./mol., pref. polyglycidyl ethers based on polyhydric phenols and/or hydrogenation prods. thereof and/or novolaks.

Abstract: HOE 91/F 237 of the disclosure: Novel diarylphosphinous acid aryl esters, a process for their preparation and their use for stabilizing plastics, in particular polyolefin molding compositions Diarylphosphinous acid aryl esters of the formula (I) (I) where n = 1 or 2, in which R1 and R2 independently of one another, as monovalent radicals, are a phenyl or naphthyl radical, each of which can carry 1 to 5 substituents, in which the substituents are identical or different and are a nonaromatic hydrocarbon radical, an alkoxy radical, alkylthio radical or dialkylamino radical having in each case 1 to 8 carbon atoms, aryl or aryloxy having in each case 6 to 10 carbon atoms or halogen having an atomic number of 9 to 35, and R2, as a divalent radical, is a phenylene or biphenylene radical, which is unsubstituted or substituted by up to 4 nonaromatic hydrocarbon radicals having 1 to 8 carbon radicals, or a naphthylene radical, which is unsubstituted or carries 1 to 4 non-aromatic hydrocarbon radicals having 1 to 8 carbon atoms as substituents, and R3, R4 and R5 independently of one another are hydrogen or a branched or unbranched hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula (I) and to their use for stabilizing plastics, in particular polymerization plastics.
