    Abstract: Disclosed is an adhesive tape based on a co-extruded, three-layer polypropylene base film which has been biaxially stretch-oriented in at least three stages and has been subjected on at least one side to corona treatment. The base film comprises a base layer and two covering layers. The base layer comprises polypropylene. The covering layer adjacent the adhesive layer includes polypropylene modified with a natural or synthetic resin having a softening point of about 70 DEG to 170 DEG C., and the other covering layer includes polypropylene modified with a diorganopolysiloxane. The new adhesive tape possesses high values of mechanical properties. The tape has good printability, and it does not contain an adhesion-promoting layer for the adhesive, nor a separating layer (release coat), since such layers are not required. The tape can also be processed without appreciable draw-off noises.

    Abstract: A solar collector comprises an absorber provided with heat transferring and transporting units, and a shielding unit for covering the absorption surface. Above the absorber a large number of collecting lenses are assembled in and/or on a support unit. The lenses are spherical and for pref. cover the surface in honeycomb fashion, or they may be cylindrical and be arranged in rows. Between the absorption surface and the less support unit, a layer for reflecting the radiation is arranged parallel to and close to the support unit. Apertures are provided in the reflecting layer, positioned in such a way that the light rays focussed by the collector lenses, pass through them. Device overcomes the problem of the reflection of energy by the collector and ensures an optimal conversion of the radiation reaching it, without expensive measures.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a tubular casing of fiber-reinforced regenerated cellulose comprising a film web which is curved to form a tube. The edge regions of the film web, which run parallel to the longitudinal axis, abut or overlap slightly and are sealed by means of a film strip which covers both the edge regions. The film web and the film strip composed of the same material have, in the wet remoistened stage, a breaking strength of about 15 to 30 N/mm2 and an elongation at break of about 30 to 50% in the longitudinal direction of the web, and a breaking strength of about 15 to 35 N/mm2 and an elongation at break of about 30 to 50% in the transverse direction of the web. The breaking strength in the transverse direction of the web is equal to or greater than that in the longitudinal direction of the web. On its entire surface facing the film strip, the tubular casing has a substantially gas-impermeable and sealable layer, as has the film strip on the surface which comes into contact with the tubular casing. The film web is produced from viscose, and is prevented from shrinking during the process and is stretched in the transverse direction during drying. The tubular casing finds particular application as a sausage casing.
