Abstract:
Water-base, clayey drilling fluids are made suitable for the drilling of deep wells by addition thereto of a copolymer of vinyl-sulfonic acid and an N-vinyl-carboxylic acid amide or Nvinyl-pyrrolidone and, optionally, a small proportion of an anion-active vinyl compound that is polymerizable under the action of free radicals.
Abstract:
DEWATERING OF AQUEOUS CELLULOSE FIBER SUSPENSION IN THE FORMATION OF PAPER IS IMPROVED BY ADDING TO THE SUSPENSION FROM 0.05 TO 4% OF A WATER SOLUBLE POLYMER CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF UNITS DERIVED FROM N-VINYL-N-METHYLFORMAMIDE, SUCH AS N-VINYL-N-METHYL FORMAMIDE, HAVING 60-100% OF THE FORMIC ACID RADICALS OF THE POLYMER SPLIT OFF BY ACID HYDROLYSIS.
Abstract:
POLY-N-VINLY-N-METHYLAMINE AND COPOLYMERS OF NVINYL-N-METHYLAMINE WITH COMPOUNDS POLYMERIZABLE UNDER THE ACTION OF A FREE RADICAL LIBERATING CAYALYST ARE PRODUCED BY HYDROLYSIS OF HOMO- OR COPOLYMERS OF NVINYL-N-METHYLFORMAIMIDE WITH MINERIAL ACIDES.
Abstract:
A method for binding cofactors to polymers entails an aromatic or benzylic amino-containing cofactor being converted into the corresponding isothiocyanate, and the latter then being attached to a polymer with suitable functional groups.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the production of chloroalkylsulfonyl isocyanates of the formula by a catalytically induced reaction of chlorosulfonyl isocyanate with one or more C2-C4-olefins. The reaction is carried out in a continuous manner in a tubular reactor.
Abstract:
A process for the polymerization of vinyl chloride in an aqueous phase in the presence of oil-soluble free-radical initiators and a mixture of at least two high-molecular, surface-active suspending agents is described. This mixture is composed of 10 to 90% by weight (relative to the mixture) of at least one copolymer formed from vinyl acetate and a compound of the formula R1-CO-NR2-CH=CH2 wherein R1 is H or alkyl having 1 to 4 C atoms and R2 is H or methyl, and of 90 to 10% by weight (relative to the mixture) of at least one cellulose ether or a partially acetylated polyvinyl alcohol. Homopolymers, copolymers or graft copolymers of vinyl chloride which have an improved combination of properties are obtained.
