The invention relates to a hand-held analysis appliance (10) for analysing a body fluid, and to a method for controlling said appliance (10). According to said method, at least one disposable test means (44) is automatically provided in successive measuring cycles, by means of a control device (16), each measuring cycle being triggered by a starting actuation in a measuring operation of the control device (16). According to the invention, a defined control intervention shifts the control device (16) into maintenance operation mode in which the automatic provision of a test means (44) is prevented.

The invention relates to a handheld analysis device having a mechanical assembly comprising a transport arrangement (9) for analytical consumable elements (4, 5), a display arrangement (7), a sensor (6) for inspecting a bodily fluid sample obtained by a lancet prick, a memory for saving a series of measurement results, a first activation element (13), wherein the activation thereof sets the device (1) to a first active state, activating the mechanical assembly and preparing a measurement, wherein a measurement is started by activating one of the activation elements (13, 15, 16, 17) and a second activation element (15), wherein the activation thereof sets the device (1) to a second active state. The device according to the invention is characterized in that by activating the second activation element (15), the display device (7) is switched on without activating the mechanical assembly.

The invention concerns a method for controlling a hand-held analysis device (10) for analyzing a body fluid in which in each case at least one test means (44) for single use is automatically provided in consecutive measuring cycles by means of a control device (16) where each measuring cycle in a measuring mode of the control device (16) is triggered by a start actuation. According to the invention it is proposed that a defined control intervention puts the control device (16) into a maintenance mode in which the automatic provision of a test means (44) is prevented.

Procedimiento para el control de un aparato manual de análisis (10) para el estudio de un líquido corporal, en particular para la comprobación de glucosa en sangre, en el cual, en cada caso, mediante un dispositivo de control (16) electrónico implementado en el aparato de análisis es posible, automáticamente, poner a disposición en ciclos de medición consecutivos al menos un medio de ensayo (44) de uso único, siendo cada ciclo de medición disparado en un modo de medición del dispositivo de control (16) mediante una acción de inicio y una banda de ensayos para la puesta a disposición de los medios de ensayo (44) es avanzado por secciones, caracterizado porque el dispositivo de control (16) es puesto en modo de mantenimiento, en el cual se interrumpe el transporte de banda automático, mediante una acción de control definida, de modo que se evita la disponibilidad automática de un medio de ensayo (44) en el aparato manual de análisis (10).
