SOLUTION: A body fluid testing system includes a housing having a sensor, and a test element having a test media received by the body fluid testing system. The body fluid testing device also has a light source for illuminating the region of the test element to be coated with sample fluid. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose a plurality of test fields (14) which are arranged spaced from each other on a continuous carrier tape (20) along its length direction, on respective use positions exactly in series. SOLUTION: This invention concerns a test tape for analyzing body fluid comprising the flexible carrier tape (20) and the plurality of test fields (14) arranged spaced apart thereon for the detection of analyte in the body fluid. For an exact and rapid positioning of the fields, it is proposed that the carrier tape (20) is provided with marker areas (12) to register the distance during tape transport. Abstract:
The invention concerns the field of integrated systems, which comprise a test element and a lancet for drawing a sample, preferably blood, whereby said lancet can be used to make a wound in the skin opening. The blood flowing out is then directly drawn by the test element in the system, and the sample comes into contact with a reagent contained in the test element, and an optically detectable change is effected in the test field. The change in the test field is detected by means of an analysis unit, which is optically contacted to the test field via at least one light-guiding element.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a hand-held analysis appliance (10) for analysing a body fluid, and to a method for controlling said appliance (10). According to said method, at least one disposable test means (44) is automatically provided in successive measuring cycles, by means of a control device (16), each measuring cycle being triggered by a starting actuation in a measuring operation of the control device (16). According to the invention, a defined control intervention shifts the control device (16) into maintenance operation mode in which the automatic provision of a test means (44) is prevented.

The invention relates to a piercing system for producing a puncture wound which enables to pick up a body liquid sample and comprises a pressure part (4) applicable to a body part (32) in which the puncture wound is producible, a triggering element (8) whose operation enables a user to trigger a puncture movement of a puncture element (3) after pressing the pressure part (4) and a checking device (5,15,20) for determining at least one parameter dependent on the sampling probability. According to said invention, a security device (9) is used for locking the triggering element (8) in the locking state in such a way that no puncture movement is triggered and for releasing said triggering element (8) in the triggering state in such a way that the puncture movement is triggered, wherein the security device (9) is transferred from the locking state to the releasing state by the action of the checking device (5,15,20) when the checking parameter determined thereby satisfies the minimum predetermined requirements, the puncture system also comprises a signalling device (12) for signalling the transition of the security device (9) to the triggering state and/or for signalling that said device is in the triggering state. A method for preparing the puncture system for producing a puncture wound is also disclosed.

The invention relates to the field of analysis systems, in which a sample analysis is carried out using test strips. According to the invention, the analysis system comprises a transport unit (1), which is driven by piezo-active elements (2). The transport unit (1) permits the direct or indirect transport of test strips in such a way that analysis methods can be wholly or partly automated. The invention also relates to a transport unit for transporting a test strip (15), said unit being controlled by an optical detector that detects the test element (15) in the system.

The invention relates to a handheld analysis device, comprising a mechanical assembly, which comprises a transport unit (9) for consumable analytical elements (4, 5), a display unit (7), a sensor (6) for analyzing a body fluid sample obtained by a lancet prick, a memory for storing a series of measurement results, a first actuating element (13), the actuation of which transfers the device (1) into a first active state, activates the mechanical assembly and prepares a measurement, wherein in the first active state a measurement is started by the actuation of one of the actuating elements (13, 15, 16, 17), and a second actuating element (15), the actuation of which transfers the device (1) into a second active state. In the device according to the invention, the display unit (7) is switched on by the actuation of the second actuating element (15), without activating the mechanical assembly.

The invention concerns a test tape unit with a flexible carrier tape (34) that can be wound forwards by a tape drive (16) on which a plurality of analytical test fields (32) for the application of body fluid are each applied in an associated tape section (42). According to the invention it is proposed that each tape section (42) has a plurality of position markers (44) for different functional positions that can be scanned by means of a tape sensor (20) and can thereby be individually identified by a measured quantity.
