SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing glass by adding glass raw materials to a molten glass in a heated container and melting, (1) an oxidizing gas is bubbled to the molten glass and the glass raw materials, which show reductivity in the melting process, are added into the bubbling position, or (2) a dry atmosphere gas is filled in the container and the atmosphere gas is fed to the surface of molten glass liquid along the path for adding the glass raw materials, and the glass raw materials are added.     SOLUTION: The process for producing glass comprises the step of charging a material for the glass to molten glass in a heated vessel to melt the material, wherein (1) an oxidizing gas is bubbled in the molten glass and a glass raw material that behaves as a reducing agent during being melted is charged into a position of the bubbling or (2) the vessel is filled with a dry ambient gas and the glass raw material is charged while the ambient gas is allowed to flow to a liquid surface of the molten glass along an charging route of the glass raw material.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a colored filter capable of showing a colorful transmittance characteristic and excellent in resistance to UV and heat by forming the filter with a transparent substrate such as colored glass and a pigment-contg. thin film formed thereon and appropfiately combining the transmittance characteristics of the substrate and thin film. CONSTITUTION:A sol of a metal alkoxide contg. a pigment is applied on a transparent colored substrate, dried and baked to form a pigment-contg. thin film. Since a colorant, which is deteriorated in molten glass may be used, a colored filter showing a colorful and desired transmittance characteristic (including novel transmittance characteristic) is obtained. The filter is not colored by scattering light with the coloring component (colored glass and pigment-contg. thin film) but colored by the selective absorption of a light component (wavelength). Namely, since the quantity of reflected light by the coloring component itself is not so large unlike an interference filter, the colored filter is hardly flared.

The optical member has a film for the prevention of internal reflection which contains the above black or nonblack particles and a black pigment and which has a refractive index different by at most 0.1 from that of the optical member.
