    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an image pickup device utilizing a solid image pickup element and reduce the production cost by making the phosphate glass include a specific amount of phosphorus oxide and copper oxide. SOLUTION: This phosphate glass for precision molding is obtained by mixing 35-50 wt.% phosphorus oxide with 17-48 wt.% zinc oxide, 0-18 wt.% alkali metal oxide comprising 0-5 wt.% lithium oxide, 0-10 wt.% sodium oxide, 0-18 wt.% potassium oxide and 0-15 wt.% cesium oxide and 0-15 wt.% alkaline earth metal oxide comprising 0-5 wt.% magnesium oxide, 0-7 wt.% calcium oxide, 0-7 wt.% strontium oxide and 0-10 wt.% barium oxide (with the provide that total amount of the alkali metal oxide and the alkaline earth metal oxide is 1-35 wt.%), 0-5 wt.% aluminum oxide, 0-7 wt.% scandium oxide, 0-20 wt.% lead oxide and 0.2-10 wt.% copper oxide so that total content thereof becomes >=80 wt.% and heating and melting the mixture at 900-1,280 deg.C and carrying out stirring, defoaming and homogenization of the mixture.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a near infrared absorbing filter glass having excellent transmission characteristics in ultraviolet region compared with conventional phosphate glass, exhibiting the stability and moldability of an easily mass- producible glass and having sufficient weather resistance. SOLUTION: This near infrared absorbing filter glass contains 35-50wt.% of P2 O5 , 0-5wt.% of Li2 O, 0-12wt.% of Na2 O, 0-20wt.% of K2 O, 0-20wt.% of Cs2 O, 1.5-20wt.% of R2 O (R is an alkali metal), 17-48wt.% of ZnO, 0-7wt.% of MgO, 0-7wt.% of CaO, 0-7wt.% of SrO, 0-12wt.% of BaO, 0-15wt.% of R'O (R' is an alkaline earth metal) and 0.2-12wt.% of CuO.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a substrate with a superfine particle-contg. thin film which has the absorption of the superfine particles and is free from the influence of interference colors by making the refractive index of the thin film described above and the refractive index of a transparent substrate substantially the same. CONSTITUTION: This substrate is formed by providing the surface of the transparent substrate with the superfine particle-contg. thin film dispersed with the superfine particles in a matrix. The refractive index of the superfine particle-contg. thin film and the refractive index of the transparent substrate are made substantially the same. The superfine particles include the superfine particles of metals or metal oxide, such as metal colloid and zinc oxide superfine particles.
