Abstract:
A process for producing in a transistor a slumped base profile wherein the base diffusion window is reoxidized, a layer of P2O5 is deposited over the oxide, an insulating layer deposited over the P2O5, an emitter window opened, and emitter diffusion made.

APPARATUS FOR TEXTILE COLOR ANALYSIS USING REFLECTED LIGHT In a textile color analyzer, a sample of textile is supported on the pad of an elevator mechanism that holds the sample against an instrument head. The head has an opaque housing provided with a chamber having an opening therein. A glass plate is mounted in the head and covers the opening and presses against the textile sample to provide a stable reference plane. The head includes an illuminating fiber optic bundle that directs light substantially perpendicular to the textile sample. A plurality of additional fiber optic bundles are mounted to receive diffuse light reflected from the sample. The elevator includes a pad of translucent polyethelene material that backs up the textile sample and takes on the color of the sample so that there are no adverse effects due to light showing through the sample and reflecting from the plate.
Abstract:
A spectrophotometer includes a wide band radiant energy source and a detector for providing an output signal proportional to the intensity of the radiant energy received thereby. A light pipe system is divided into a reference path and a sample path. Such system coacts with a rotary assembly having a variable monochromatic filter located diametrically opposite to an opening through which radiant energy can freely pass. The remaining portions of the rotary assembly are opaque so that as the assembly turns, the sample and reference paths are serially energized by monochromatic energy and then by polychromatic energy. The sample path includes a sample illumination and collection system for illuminating a test sample and collecting the light reflected therefrom. The resultant output of the detector can be analyzed to determine the amount of fluorescence.

SPECTROPHOTOMETER FOR DUAL MODE FLUORESCENCE ANALYSIS A sprectrophotometer includes a wide band radiant energy source and a detector for providing an output signal proportional to the intensity of the radiant energy received thereby. Abstract:
The station has a table lifting the sample. a test head (2) is suspended on the device frame (1), and the sample table (3) is below it. The test head consists of an opaque case (31) and a cylindrical chamber open at the bottom and covered by a glass plate. A first optical fibre bunch (32) is inserted along the cylinder axis for the sample illunination. Several holes are made in the chamber sides for fibre bunches (34) carrying light diffusely reflected from the sample (33). Their axes intersect on the cylinder axis. The sample is pressed by the lifting table (3) to the glass plate, with the pressure controlled by a spring (29).
