Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of conducting a handwritten character recognition based on a parameter calculated from the stroke of a handwritten character by collecting the handwritten character and to provide a computer program and a data processing system thereof. SOLUTION: A method of conducting the handwritten character recognition by the analysis of the starting point and the ending point of the stroke includes a step of identifying a stroke starting event and a stroke ending event, and a step of calculating the stroke parameter from the coordinates of the stroke starting event and the stroke ending event. One or a plurality of candidate characters are identified based on the stroke parameter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of conducting a handwritten character recognition by scaling a handwritten character input and to provide a computer program and a data processing system thereof. SOLUTION: A method for scaling the handwritten character input for the handwritten character recognition includes a step of deriving a stroke parameter from a handwritten character stroke, and a step of partitioning the input area in which the handwritten character stroke is supplied. The stroke parameter is scaled according to the input area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for displaying real-time service level performance, breach, and guaranteed uniformity with automatic alerts and proactive rebating for a utility computing environment. SOLUTION: Service level agreement parameters based on a service level agreement between a customer and a service provider are used to identify discrepancies in a promised service level for the utility computing environment. A real-time view of a current service level and the promised service level for the customer is displayed. When discrepancy between the promised service level and the current service level occurs, a rebate is generated for the customer. Alerts identifying the discrepancy and its root cause are provided to the customer and the service provider for the discrepancy. Alerts may also be provided prior to the occurrence of the discrepancy so that action may be performed to eliminate potential discrepancy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
Method which delivers the web contents in another language. Each of the web documents includes a content and a template. The method is (a) reception of a code for the other language; (b) reception of at least a selected web page to be translated; (c) transmission of a translated web page by extracting the selected web page template. then; (d) combining both the template and web page content for the selected language. A preferred option is for the server to be an IBM RS/6000 data platform and IBM AIX and WebSphere systems or other data platforms. In addition to the program suite for the web server and the Boson/Quark servlet, the server has a database or a file system containing a monolingual web site with a database of file system containing the appropriate translations of the web site contents, but not the template. The web contents include images, photos, tables, text, etc. The server is configured to operate in monolingual mode or to use the Boson/Quark servlet for delivering real time translation of a selected language.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for multi-source, multi-destination data transfers that include identifying a plurality of destination points having destination contexts in one or more destination objects; selecting source content for transfer; displaying destination contexts for the destination points; and directing source content to at least one destination point in dependence upon the displayed destination contexts. In typical embodiments, identifying destination points includes recording each identified destination point and storing in association with each recorded destination point a copy of a destination context for each recorded destination point.
Abstract:
A web page choice indicator is provided for web document types. The pages transferred from the server are then mapped to the remote users chosen display format. Uses the IBM servlets BOSON and QUARK techniques. The system produces dynamically formatted web pages according to the users choice and includes: (a) a server platform possessing data designed to execute software programs, a web server software program suits including web protocols, web page computer readable storing memory and several web page types stored in the memory. The web page types possess various disposition and common content definitions. The server possesses a store of computer readable information with means for accessing this information in response to the request of a remote user of the web server; (b) means for extracting the web page format for a web page disposition model for at least a web page type stored in the web page memory; (c) means for indicating the remote users chosen web page disposition corresponding to at least a web page type; (d) means for production of web pages for combining the requested information from the server store and formatting the information in accordance with the indicated remote user chosen web page format for display on the remote computer.
