Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for differential transmission of data on a bus overcoming the limitations of conventional systems. SOLUTION: This differential transitional coding uses a differential bus. Use of differential transition includes a step to divide a differential bus into one or more groups each of which is composed of four bus lines. Use of a differential bus includes a step to assert half of the bus lines in one group during bus data transmission and thereby regulate the asserted and reversely asserted sets of the bus lines. In addition, at least one of the bus lines in the asserted set is reversely asserted and at least one of the bus lines in the reversely asserted set is asserted. Consequently, data are differentially transmitted by driving two bus lines, i.e., one line for one set. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To render a triangular mesh for using it in a graphical display. SOLUTION: Each triangular mesh 150 is composed of triangular graphic figure elements 155. The figure element 155 represents a finely divided triangular shape. Each figure element 155 shares a defined apex with the adjacent figure element 155. The shared apexes are sent out in order to render the figure elements 155 and used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for enciphering data that are transmitted through a differential transition data bus by overcoming the limits of the conventional system. SOLUTION: A data enciphering method is provided for a differential bus using transition coding. In a prescribed bus transfer cycle, input data are mapped, coded and enciphered as a logic state. The mapping, coding and enciphering of the input data are changed for every bus transfer cycle, and are a function of pseudo-random numbers. The logic state is differentially transmitted from a bus transmitter to a bus receiver, mapped as corresponding output data, deciphered and decoded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
A system, method, and computer-usable medium for simulating object blur uses motion vectors. A motion vector, or array of motion vectors, may be specified on either a per-vertex or per-primitive (i.e. per-object) basis. A motion vector is opposite to the direction of the motion, and thus points in the direction of the blur. The magnitude of the motion vector represents the distance the vertex or the primitive (i.e. each vertex in the primitive) travels in one unit of time. When a scene is rendered, only those objects which are in motion, or which are subject to depth of field blurring, are rendered over a series of time slices. All objects which are static (i.e. nonmoving) are rendered directly into a color buffer, rather than being repeatedly rendered over a series of time slices. Thus, static (i.e. non-blurred) objects are rendered only once, while objects which are to be blurred are rendered over a series of time slices.
Abstract:
Data is transferred from a host system to a subsystem connected to the host by a system bus in an efficient manner using one or more virtual first in first out (FIFO) registers in host memory and a corresponding set of virtual FIFOs located in the subsystem memory. A transmission controller controls the transfer of data from the host FIFOs to the subsystem FIFOs while the subsystem processor reads and processes data from the subsystem FIFO. By accumulating data in the host FIFOs before transfer to the subsystem, overhead associated with starting and stopping data transfers over the system bus is substantially reduced.
