Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fix a yoke of a rotary actuator, prevent generation of vibrations and noises and miniaturize the yoke, by using a mounting member for mounting a first yoke to a base and a fixing screw penetrating from a cover through a second yoke and the first yoke to the base, thereby screwing the yokes to the base. SOLUTION: A yoke couple body 20 is positioned on a case 11 by the engagement of a hole 21C of a first yoke 21 and a cylindrical part 11A of the case 11, and a projecting part formed at an inner face of the case 11. The yoke couple body 20 is secured on the case 11 by passing a lower mount screw 32 to a hole 11C of the case 11 and screwing to a screw hole 21D of the first yoke 21. A cover 12 is fitted to the case 11. A fixing screw 31 is screwed to a hole 11B of the cylindrical part 11A through a through hole 22B from a hole 12A of the cover 12. The yoke couple body 20 is thus firmly secured between the case 11 and cover 12, thereby restricting vibrations of a voice coil motor and reducing noises.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic disk device whose external shape of a seal for hermetic sealing is the same as the external shape of a cover and a base provided with a level difference on a peripheral edge part. CONSTITUTION: In this hermetically sealed type magnetic disk device to which the cover and the base provided with the level difference on the peripheral edge part are connected through the seal, two inclination parts 48 and 50 are provided stepwise in a folded-back shape on respective level difference parts at the peripheral edges of the cover 60 and te base 40. A first inclination part 48 is lowered in a direction from the peripheral edge to an inner side and a second inclination part 50 connected to it is lowered in the direction from the inner side to the peripheral edge. The inclination parts of the cover and the base are provided so as to be matched respectively. The seal 70 is provided with the practically same outer shape as the cover 60 and the base 40 and is provided with a projection part 74 for covering the inclination parts.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate disk flutter by providing a shroud which may be fitted later to a magnetic disk apparatus. SOLUTION: A shroud 100 is provided as a part to be fitted later to a housing in such a manner as surrounding a part 94 of the angular range of the disk periphery along the relevant disk periphery attached rotatable to the relevant housing of a magnetic disk apparatus. Moreover, there is provided a magnetic disk apparatus having the shroud 100. Moreover, there is provided a new assembling method conforming to the new assembling sequence fitted to later provision of shroud as a method of manufacturing a magnetic disk apparatus. Use of shroud 100 enables control of disk flutter due to disturbance from the point of view of hydrodynamics and also improves track positioning accuracy.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk device which is capable of straightening air flow between disks and suppressing vibrations of the disks and actuators, and an air flow straightening blade used in the device. SOLUTION: The hard disk device 1 of this invention consists of a housing 2, the plural disks 3 which are housed rotatably in the state of being stacked in the housing 2 and the actuators 5 which are housed movably with respect to the surface of the disks 3 in the housing 2 and have data read/write head 4 at the tip thereof. In the hard disk device 1, the air flow straightening blades 6 which are streamlined in cross section are disposed while leaving a specified interval just behind the down stream side in rotational direction of the disks with respect to the moving position of the head 4 on the disks 3. Further, in order to complete the hard disk device 1, the air flow straightening blades 6, which are constituted by erecting plural plate-like bodies having streamlined cross section on a substrate 11 in such a manner that the streamlined cross section becomes parallel with the substrate 11, are utilized.

The present invention provides a magnetic disk device which firmly fixes the yokes of a rotary actuator between a base and a cover. The yoke can be made compact and the movable range of the rotary actuator can be wide. An attaching screw attaches a first yoke to a base and fixing screws passing through the second yoke and the first yoke from a cover are screwed to the base.
