Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk device which is capable of straightening air flow between disks and suppressing vibrations of the disks and actuators, and an air flow straightening blade used in the device. SOLUTION: The hard disk device 1 of this invention consists of a housing 2, the plural disks 3 which are housed rotatably in the state of being stacked in the housing 2 and the actuators 5 which are housed movably with respect to the surface of the disks 3 in the housing 2 and have data read/write head 4 at the tip thereof. In the hard disk device 1, the air flow straightening blades 6 which are streamlined in cross section are disposed while leaving a specified interval just behind the down stream side in rotational direction of the disks with respect to the moving position of the head 4 on the disks 3. Further, in order to complete the hard disk device 1, the air flow straightening blades 6, which are constituted by erecting plural plate-like bodies having streamlined cross section on a substrate 11 in such a manner that the streamlined cross section becomes parallel with the substrate 11, are utilized.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of distortion and deformation of a disk and to surely perform fixation to a spindle by devising and adopting a special structure to a clamp for fixing the disk. SOLUTION: By screw-fastening the screw insertion hole 51 of the clamp 50 and the screw hole 53 of the spindle 16, pressurization force is uniformly transmitted through a J ring 55 to the disk 18A and it is fixed to the spindle 16. At the time, an area thinner than an inner peripheral part is formed on the outer peripheral side of the screw insertion hole 51 of the clamp 50 and a level difference is provided. Thus, at the time of screw-fastening the clamp 50 to the spindle 16, a part of the lower surface of the head of a screw 62 pressurizes the inner peripheral thick part of the clamp 50, an empty area is formed at a thin part and a non-contact state is attained. Thus, at a clamp part near a screw center, the distortion generated by fastening is dispersed at the outer peripheral part of the clamp, the pressurization force applied from the clamp to the J ring 55 is uniformized, the distortion and the deformation generated on the disk are reduced and the fixation is performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk clamp hardly causing a dislocation on the data positions in a recording track and letting the distribution of the data positions concentrate near a central position even after a temperature cycle is implemented. SOLUTION: The material used for forming a top clamp 31 and a hub 23 is physically stable in all the temperature region in which this information recording disk device is assumed to be used and has such an elastic coefficient that the fastening force required to fix a recording disk 17 when the information recording disk device is used is available from the fastening force for fixing screws 22. The material of at least one of the top clamp 31 and the hub 23 has a coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of the recording disk 17.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure for fixing a load beam stably to a carriage. SOLUTION: When a load beam 14 is fixed to a carriage 40, the carriage 40 is fixed to a fixing plate 32 by swaging and the fixing plate 32 is fixed to the load beam 14 by welding so that the load beam 14 does not come into direct contact with a swaged part and the deformation of swaged part does not have direct effect on the load beam 14. Furthermore, stability is enhanced in the fixing of load beam by a structure wherein the carriage 40 is surrounded by the load beam 14 on the fixing plate 32 side, i.e., the load beam 14 extends from the opposite sides of longitudinal center of load beam toward the carriage 40 side.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the flutter of the magnetic disk of a hard disk drive having a high rotational speed. SOLUTION: A ramp 40 is provided leaving a predetermined gap from the side wall 12a of a base 12. A bypass channel 42 is formed between the side wall 12a and the ramp 40. An air flow is supplied toward the magnetic disk 22 through this bypass channel 42. The flutter of the magnetic disk 22 is reduced by adopting such a constitution.
