Abstract: An FPC cable which is excellent in noise resisting property, manufacturing cost, mounting operability to a carriage, and maintenance. The FPC cable includes a spacer and a reinforcing plate. In the patterned surface of the FPC, a head pad to which a head wire is bonded is formed on a pad forming portion and a preamplifier chip is mounted on a device mounting portion. Wiring patterns are linearly connected between the head pad and the preamplifier chip and between the preamplifier chip and an I/O-side end portion, respectively. In the spacer, a cavity is formed for storing the preamplifier chip. The reinforcing plate is inserted into the space formed by folding back the pad forming portion, and the spacer is engaged with the device mounting device, thereby constituting a magnetic-head-side end portion.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability on a landing zone surface and to prevent the life of a device from shortening by providing a control means moving an actuator arm toward an actuator lock when read/write operation is ended. SOLUTION: Plural bumps of a leather texture are formed on the landing zone 3 surface. A spindle motor 17 and a voice coil motor 9 rotating a hard disk 2 are controlled by a driver 19 to move the actuator arm 7. A head slider assembly 4 is loaded on the front end of the arm 7, and the rear end is attached pivotally to a frame of a hard disk device. An inside actuator lock 11 is loaded on the frame, and is engaged with the arm 7, and positions a read/write head onto the zone 3 to position it onto an outermost track of a data recording zone.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fix a yoke of a rotary actuator, prevent generation of vibrations and noises and miniaturize the yoke, by using a mounting member for mounting a first yoke to a base and a fixing screw penetrating from a cover through a second yoke and the first yoke to the base, thereby screwing the yokes to the base. SOLUTION: A yoke couple body 20 is positioned on a case 11 by the engagement of a hole 21C of a first yoke 21 and a cylindrical part 11A of the case 11, and a projecting part formed at an inner face of the case 11. The yoke couple body 20 is secured on the case 11 by passing a lower mount screw 32 to a hole 11C of the case 11 and screwing to a screw hole 21D of the first yoke 21. A cover 12 is fitted to the case 11. A fixing screw 31 is screwed to a hole 11B of the cylindrical part 11A through a through hole 22B from a hole 12A of the cover 12. The yoke couple body 20 is thus firmly secured between the case 11 and cover 12, thereby restricting vibrations of a voice coil motor and reducing noises.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of distortion and deformation of a disk and to surely perform fixation to a spindle by devising and adopting a special structure to a clamp for fixing the disk. SOLUTION: By screw-fastening the screw insertion hole 51 of the clamp 50 and the screw hole 53 of the spindle 16, pressurization force is uniformly transmitted through a J ring 55 to the disk 18A and it is fixed to the spindle 16. At the time, an area thinner than an inner peripheral part is formed on the outer peripheral side of the screw insertion hole 51 of the clamp 50 and a level difference is provided. Thus, at the time of screw-fastening the clamp 50 to the spindle 16, a part of the lower surface of the head of a screw 62 pressurizes the inner peripheral thick part of the clamp 50, an empty area is formed at a thin part and a non-contact state is attained. Thus, at a clamp part near a screw center, the distortion generated by fastening is dispersed at the outer peripheral part of the clamp, the pressurization force applied from the clamp to the J ring 55 is uniformized, the distortion and the deformation generated on the disk are reduced and the fixation is performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FPC cable having advantageous noise-resisting performance, manufacturing costs, mount workability to a carriage and maintenance efficiency. SOLUTION: The FPC cable is comprised on an FPC 11, a spacer and a reinforcing plate. A head pad 102 where a head wire is bonded is formed at a pad formation part A of a pattern face 100a of the FPC 11. A preamplifier chip 101 is mounted to an element-mounting part B. The head pad 102 and preamplifier chip 101, and the preamplifier chip 101 and an end part at the side of an I/O are respectively linearly connected by wiring patterns 105a, 105b. A gap is formed in the spacer to store the preamplifier chip 101. The pad formation part A is folded to insert the reinforcing plate, and the spacer is engaged to the element-mounting part B, whereby an end part at the side of a magnetic head is constituted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the flutter of the magnetic disk of a hard disk drive having a high rotational speed. SOLUTION: A ramp 40 is provided leaving a predetermined gap from the side wall 12a of a base 12. A bypass channel 42 is formed between the side wall 12a and the ramp 40. An air flow is supplied toward the magnetic disk 22 through this bypass channel 42. The flutter of the magnetic disk 22 is reduced by adopting such a constitution.
