Abstract: PURPOSE: To segment an optional partial image at high speed by utilizing a raster arithmetic function provided in a graphic display system. CONSTITUTION: An external shape which defines the partial image to be segmented from an original image which is stored in the storage area 10A of an APA memory 10 is plotted through the use of an external shape plotting device 121 and a dot pattern 11 expressing the plotted external shape is written in a work storage area 10B. Then, under the control of a controller 26, reading of the dot pattern 11 from the work storage area 10B of the APA memory 10 to a mask data generator 14 is executed. Mask data which set the area surrounded by the external shape dot pattern 11 to a non-mask state and the others a mask state. Then, unmasked image data are written in a transfer destination storage area 10C. Thus, the optional partial image is segmented from the original image at high speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To plot the straight line and circular arc of a width at a high speed on a graphic display. CONSTITUTION: For both of a point for which only an X coordinate is increased by one from a present point and the point for which only a Y coordinate is increased by one, whether or not they are present between contour lines f1 and f2 for stipulating the line of width 1 is judged. When the point for which only the X coordinate is increased by one is present between the contour lines f1 and f2, the point is plotted and selected as the next pixel. When it is not so and the point for which only the Y coordinate is increased by one is present between the contour lines f1 and f2, the point is plotted and selected as the next pixel. When neither of them is present between the contour lines f1 and f2, the point for which both X coordinate and Y coordinate are increased by one is plotted and selected as the next pixel.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To make a bus transfer protocol programmable and to improve data transferring efficiency by transferring the plural data of a bit value smaller than a prescribed bit width on the bus of the prescribed bit value in one cycle by a programmed operations. Avideo chip V1 is constituted of a decoder DEC1, program buffer address register PBAR, sequencer SEQ, program buffer PB, decoder DEC 2, address control unit 54, selector SEL, and each kind register. The video chip V1 is connected through a data bus 26 with a video buffer APA1.
