    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform stable electrostatic painting by permitting easy and sure setting of the electrode direction of a nozzle tip base in either of two vertical or longitudinal directions where an electrostatic effect is good. CONSTITUTION:In the state of mounting a tip base 18 fitted with a nozzle tip 17 for electrostatic painting to the preceding end surface in the barrel part 2 of an electrostatic airless spray painting gun 1, two recesses 20, 20' which are deviated in angle by 90 deg. with respect to the center of a nozzle are formed on the rear surface of the base 18, and a projecting part 21 projecting and formed on the preceding end surface of the part 2 is fitted at a suitable angle in said recesses 20, 20'. Since the nozzle port is positioned so as to be set either horizontally or vertically by the recesses 20, 20' on the rear surface of the base 18, the adjustment for the direction of the base 18 in the stage of spraying like in the prior art is eliminated and the nozzle port is determined precisely in the positions of the horizontal or vertical spray patterns. The electrode direction of the base 18 is easily set always in either of the two vertical or horizontal directions where an electrostatic effect is good.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent high voltage leakage in paint coating, paint is heated while maintaining insulation from heaters by use of outer cylinders and internal working fluid which is electrically isolated by insulating material. CONSTITUTION:An internally vacuum heat transfer pipe 5 containing a small amount of working fluid consists of outer container pipes of insulating material such as ceramic pipes which is internally lined with capillary wick, the pipes being attached at one ends to sheath heaters connected to power supply, and at the other ends to built-in paint pipes. This heat pipe 5 is used to heat paint. The inlet side of paint pipes is connected to the paint container 7 via the paint pump 6, and the outlet side is to the spray gun 8, through the paint circulating pumps, respectively. All the paint routes 10 form the paint container to spray gun, including the route built in the heat pipe, and route containing the circulating pump are electrically insulated from ground.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of leakage of painting from pinhole by weaving a shielding wire in a coating hose for electrostatic coating, and at the same time, providing overcurrent detecting device and thereby concentrating the electric field between the coating in the hose and external grounding material. CONSTITUTION:An insulating painting hose 1 that connects a spray gun 4 for electrostatic painting and a paint tank 5 is made up of a painting hose body 1' made of highly insulating member such as polyethylene etc. a shielding member 2 provided its outer periphery and made of woven metal and a protecting covering layer 3 made of polyurethane etc. An overcurrent detector 6 is installed between the body of spray gun and grounding potential (a). This painting hose rarely causes leakage of paint due to defective insulation. However, if, by any chance, breakage of insulation should occur, current flows through the detector 6 and an alarm is given by an alarm system connected to the detector 6. At the same time, power source of a high voltage generating device 7 is cut off to prevent discharge to outside, and also to protect workers from receiving an electric shock.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The title unit, designed to take out powders of many colors automatically, comprising selector valves, to which spray gun hoses of an electrostatic powder coater are connected detachably, and quick joints arranged in matrixes. CONSTITUTION:When the color selecting push-button for color change command 12 is depressed, cleaning air is fed from the air path 4a into the transfer head 6 connected to the color change valve 5 to clean the hose 7 and spray gun 8. The injector cut valve 3 is then turned on to suck the powder coating compound in the booth side hopper 2 into the selector valve 4, and the compound is returned and circulated to the separator 1 via the circulation path 13 with the gun 8 turned off. The positioning pins a, b, ... and A, B, ... corresponding to the commanded color protrude, and the transfer head 6 moves longitudinally and laterally to lock the desired pin, and connects to the color change valve 5. When the gun 8 is triggered, the selector valve 4 is operated to feed the compound to the gun 8.
