Abstract:
Cosmetic compositions for hair containing a compound of the formula (1)
WHEREIN N IS 0 OR 1, R1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 8 to 14 carbon atoms or a tertiary butyl radical and R2 and R3 each are hydrogen or alkyl or hydroxyalkyl having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at least one of R2 and R3 is said alkyl or hydroxyalkyl.
Abstract:
Novel alkaline cellulase K, CMCase I and CMCase II are obtained by isolation from a culture product of Bacillus sp KSM-635. These enzymes stably work in a wide range including an alkaline side, and their activity is shown even at low temperatures. Further, they have a strong resistance to surfce active agents, chelating agents and proteinases. Therefore, they can be effectively utilized not only as an additive for clothing detergents, but also as a biomass and in other fields.
Abstract:
A novel microorganism Torulopsis bombicola KSM-36 (FERM BP-799) isolated from cabbage leaves grown in a cabbage field located in Musashino-shi, Tokyo, has sophorose-producing activity.

Abstract:
A process for producing a hydroxyfatty acid polyhydric alcohol ester, which comprises; adding at least one polyhydric alcohol represented by the formula (III) or (IV), (III) or (IV) wherein R5 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R6 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and m and n represent integers from 1 to 6, to hydrated Sophorolipid which is a fermentation product of Torulopsis bombicola; distilling off water under reduced pressure; and subjecting the resulting mixture to an alcoholysis reaction by adding an acid catalyst to the mother liquor.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a wood preservative composition comprising the following ingredients (A) and (B): (A) at least one alkyl ammonium compound, (B) at least one polyacid salt selected from the group consisting of condensed homopolyacid salts, condensed heteropolyacid salts, polycarboxylic acid salts and polyphosphonic acid salts. The (B) ingredients improve the anchoring property of the alkyl ammonium compound (A) which is the active ingredient of a wood preservative, whereby there is obtained a wood preservative with long-lasting preservation effect under the conditions of underground burial or under water installation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dispersion consisting of a finely divided inorganic or organic substance or a finely divided zeolite in water using a fermentation product which can be obtained by growing a hydrocarbon-consuming microorganism in a hydrocarbon-containing growth medium.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a wood preservative composition comprising the following ingredients (A) and (B): (A) at least one alkyl ammonium compound, (B) at least one polyacid salt selected from the group consisting of condensated homopolyacid salts, condensated heteropolyacid salts, polycarboxylic acid salts and polyphosphonic acid salts. The (B) ingredients improve the anchoring property of the alkyl ammonium compound (A) which is the active ingredient of a wood preservative, thereby obtained a wood preservative with long-lasting preservation effect under the conditions of underground berrying or underwater installation.
