Abstract:
A process for producing an acyloxybenzenesulfonic acid or a salt thereof by sulfonating an acyloxybenzene (1) with the use of at least one additive selected from among carboxylic acids or esters (2), alkyl phosphates (3), polyphosphoric acids (4), amide and like compounds (6), carbonic ester compounds (7), and hydroxylic compounds (8). The process enables acyloxybenzenesulfonic acids with good hues to be produced industrially in high yields at a high selectivity and a low cost as compared with the conventional processes.

Abstract:
Prepn. of aliphatic prim. amine comprises reacting a 8-24C aliphatic nitrile with hydrogen at 150-250 deg.C and a hydrogen pressure of 1-50 atm. in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and either an alkali metal hydroxide or ammonia. The catalyst contains (a) Cu, (e) a gp.VIII Pt metal and/or (f) a IV period transition metal (not Cu) in a wt. ratio (a/e) of 1/0.0001 to 1/0.1 and (a/f) of 99/1 to 10/90. The catalyst can also contain (c) an alkali or alkali earth metal in a wt. ratio (a/c) of 1/1 to 1/0.01 and (d) at least one metal selected from Al, Mo and W in a wt. ratio (a/d) of 1/1 to 1/0.1.
Abstract:
An amphoteric compound having the formula (V): in which R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 each are a lower alkyl, n is an integer of 1 to 5, Z is -COO , -COOM, -SO3 or -SO3M and M is a cation.
Abstract:
A bleaching composition comprises (a) hydrogen or a peroxide to produce hydrogen peroxide in its aqueous solution and (b) an organic peracid precursor having the formula (I) in which a quaternary ammonium is connected with an alkyl through an ether, an amide or an ester. c
