    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhaust gas to be generated while a bonding agent in a die cavity is cured into the ambient environment by at least one channel formed so as to communicate with the die cavity. SOLUTION: An ink jet cartridge assembly comprises a cartridge body 40 including a die cavity 44 and also at least one channel or a plurality of channels 46 and 48 disposed in communication with the die cavity 44 and the ambient enivonment, a printing head 14, at least a part of which is disposed in the die cavity 44 and a bonding agent 26 provided for bonding the printing head 14 with the body 40 and disposed between them in the die cavity 44, and venting holes exhausting gas to be generated while the bonding agent 26 is cured are formed by at least one channel or a plurality of channels 46 and 48.

    Abstract: An ink jet printhead body (51) includes one or more zones (61) for cleaning, guiding and stabilizing a printhead wiper (44) of an ink jet printer. The printhead body includes a receptacle (52) providing a reservoir for ink, and the receptacle includes a wall (54) having an outer surface. The wall includes a region at which location of one or more ink discharge nozzles (60) is established. A plurality of ribs (62) is located in each of the wiper cleaning zones, which in turn is located to be adjacent the wall region. The orientation of the ribs may be defined with reference to a first axis (Y) extending in the plane of the outer wall surface and intersecting the wall region in a first direction, and by a second axis or axis of symmetry (X), extending in the plane of the outer wall surface and extending substantially parallel to an edge of the wall and through a central portion of the region to perpendicularly intersect the first axis. The orientation of the plurality of ribs is such that a direction of elongation of at least some of the plurality of ribs is in a direction substantially non-orthogonal to both the first axis and the second axis. The plurality of ribs defines a plurality of non-rectangular cavities (64). The plurality of ribs and plurality of cavities cooperate to remove and collect excess ink and contaminants from the printhead wiper.

    Abstract: The invention described in the specifications relates to an improved ink jet printer cartridge structure which includes a substrate carrier (90) or nose piece upon which semiconductor devices for ink jet printheads are mounted. The substrate carrier has a top surface (100) containing one or more substrate locator wells (92) each well having well walls (98), a well base and at least one ink feed slot in each well base and side walls attached to the top surface along the perimeter thereof. One or more of the side walls contain fins (102) for heat removal from the substrate carrier and at least two alignment devices (110) attached adjacent at least one of the side walls for precisely aligning the substrate carrier in a printer carriage. Among the advantages of the substrate carrier is that it provides a suitable means for substrate alignment for multiple substrates, a means for cooling multiple substrates, a means for fixedly or removably attaching the carrier to ink reservoir body and a means for accurately aligning the carrier and reservoir body in a carriage of a printer.

The device enables production of a cartridge body made of a material which is effective for removing heat from the printheads.
