    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing head reduced in thermal and mechanical stress and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: In a method for producing an ink jet printing head by bonding a nozzle plate to a polymer layer by heat, the polymer layer 22 is arranged between a semiconductor substrate and the nozzle plate and includes an expanding gap space or trough part sufficient to suppress the stress in a structure during the process bonding the nozzle plate 26 to the polymer layer 22. By this constitution, the problem of the positional shift and strain caused by a conventional head structure is reduced.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing head having filter function constitution not unjustly suppressing the ink flow passing through a printing head. SOLUTION: An ink jet printing head 10 has an ink receiving via and is equipped with a chip layer 16 having at least one actuator 18. A barrier layer is arranged adjacently to the chip layer 16 to form at least one throat 22 having width and a vertical section area. The barrier layer further forms at least one bubble chamber 20 and each throat 22 receives ink from the via to supply the same to each bubble chamber 20. A nozzle layer 14 is arranged adjacently to the barrier layer and, when ink is excited by the related actuator 18 thereof, at least one nozzle 12 for discharging ink from each bubble chamber is formed.

    Abstract: The invention described in the specifications relates to an improved ink jet printer cartridge structure which includes a substrate carrier (90) or nose piece upon which semiconductor devices for ink jet printheads are mounted. The substrate carrier has a top surface (100) containing one or more substrate locator wells (92) each well having well walls (98), a well base and at least one ink feed slot in each well base and side walls attached to the top surface along the perimeter thereof. One or more of the side walls contain fins (102) for heat removal from the substrate carrier and at least two alignment devices (110) attached adjacent at least one of the side walls for precisely aligning the substrate carrier in a printer carriage. Among the advantages of the substrate carrier is that it provides a suitable means for substrate alignment for multiple substrates, a means for cooling multiple substrates, a means for fixedly or removably attaching the carrier to ink reservoir body and a means for accurately aligning the carrier and reservoir body in a carriage of a printer.
