    Abstract: Provided is a monohydric alcohol removal method in esterification, the method including a step of reacting a carbonyl-based compound having one or more functional groups selected from the group consisting of carboxyl, ester, and acid anhydride groups with a monohydric alcohol in an esterification reactor including a liquid phase outlet line connected to a liquid phase compartment in the reactor, and a step of separating in a gas-liquid separation column to remove the monohydric alcohol, wherein the inflow of a liquid phase stream into the gas-liquid separation column starts at the time point between 10% and 70% of the total time required for the gas-liquid separation. By controlling the time at which the liquid phase stream flows out to the liquid phase outlet line in the gas-liquid separation, the method can reduce the content of the low boiling point mixture containing the unreacted alcohol in the reactor to a desired level within a short time and thus can integrate direct esterification and trans-esterification into one process.

    Abstract: Provided are an ester composition preparation system, including an integrated reactor, a gas-liquid separation column, a purification unit, an alcohol storage tank, and a mixed alcohol separation column, which is an efficient, economical, and simplified ester composition preparation system, and an ester composition preparation method using the same. The ester composition preparation system is a simplified system which can reduce facility space, drastically remove reaction equipment, and reduce transfer time through the introduction of the integrated reactor in which the reaction preparing an ester compound and the reaction preparing an ester composition are carried out in one space, the mixed alcohol separation column and the gas-liquid separation column.
