Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient, high-speed and more economical method for optimizing a radio network. SOLUTION: Signal markers 100-120 are installed at important positions inside the radio network. The important positions are the part where signals from base stations 10-22 are weak due to natural or artificially formed obstacles and the part where a user demand for network resources is specially high. The signal markers 100-120 gather the data of the signal strength and amplitude of the signals from the surrounding base stations and the amount of the user demand to network access, etc., and then, transmit the data to a mobile object switching center(MSC) 30. The MSC 30 analyzes the data, and in the case that the data indicate that performance is insufficient, new operation parameters to the respective base stations 10-22 are decided. The MSC 30 then transmits the new parameters to the respective base stations 10-22 and the respective base stations 10-22 change the constitution based on the parameters. The signal markers 100-120 gather the data again thereafter and transmit the gathered data to the MSC 30 again. The MSC 30 changes the base station parameters again as needed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling so as to ensure a common communication service at the time of revising a new communication protocol for a base station and a communication system that consists of base stations. SOLUTION: When an unrevised station (group) is included in a group of mobile stations for which the latest version of a revised communication protocol is executed, confusion can be prevented by providing the information from the base station to the mobile station. In Figure 2, a configuration of messages that a base station provides to a mobile station, GRP ID 46 is contained in RECORD 30, and further inside REV 66 and various information as a revision part of mobile station protocol are contained. The mobile station transmits according to such information.

The mobile telephone set identifier part indicates the mobile telephone set at the destination of the BS-MT paging message. The BS-C paging message includes an MT paging message and a concentrator identifier part indicating the concentrator at the destination of the BS-C paging message.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for permitting an MS(mobile station) to automatically resume a call when the MS loses communications with a base station(BS). SOLUTION: The MS monitors signals from other BSs while it communicates with a BS. The signals are measured and the strength of the signals received from BSs in the reception-possible area of the MS is decided. When MS loses a traffic channel being used for communicating voice or data with the BS, the MS tries a contact with another BS. The BS that the MS selects to contact has the strongest signal which the MS monitored previously. When the MS makes contact with the new BS, the MS requests a hand-off from the BSs with which contact is lost to another BS supplying communication services to the MS. New traffic channels are allocated to the MS with BSs on the basis of the MS request and the measurement value of the signal strength of other BSs which were included in the hand-off request of the MS.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve optimizing precision independent of the storage of experiential data by measuring a signal parameter from an antenna at a measuring position by a receiver for test when the radiating direction of the antenna is changed, and deciding the composite antenna radiating method of each antenna of a radio network or the segment based on the measured signal parameter by a processing system. SOLUTION: A central antenna controller 14 can transmit a command signal through base station controllers 16 to antenna systems 20. The command signal can be transferred from each base station controller 16 through a base station 18 to each antenna system 20. The central antenna controller 14 uses the command signal for controlling the radiating direction of each antenna of the antenna system 20 simultaneously corresponding to an arbitrary prescribed time. The central antenna controller 14 changes the radiating direction of the antenna within the designated range of the radiating direction of the antenna which can usually be used at each measuring position.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain communication between a slave station and a communication network through the use of a controller and the communication network when the salve station is outside the coverage area of a main station. SOLUTION: When a slave station is in a piconet (wireless network having main station and one or more slave stations), the slave station is in the communication range of the main station by using a communication channel on a frequency band fband (1). When the slave station moves outside the piconet, the channel is switched to the different communication channel of the frequency band fband (1) so that it in the communication range of a controller and communication can be executed with the controller. When the slave station moves outside the communication range of the controller, it comes in the communication range of the communication network or the base station, and the channel is switched to the communication channel on the different frequency band fband (2).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the efficiency of radio frequency optimization by measuring the reception signal parameter of an electromagnetic transmission signal at a measuring place, deciding the propagation coefficient corresponding to the electromagnetic transmission signal, and deciding a down link transmission power to at least one base station on the basis of at least one target performance value. SOLUTION: A radio communication network 114 including four base stations is arranged at the center of corresponding four hexagonal cells 10. The base stations are arranged by using an x axis and y axis as a reference. A test route passing through each ratio frequency service area can be a path of any type whether this is continuous or intermittent. Measuring spots 112 are positioned on the path of a test drive so that the statistically significant samples of test measurements can be obtained in each radio frequency service area. The measuring spots 112 are made coincident with areas in which an extremely large amount of predicted traffic of great importance is generated when viewed from the subscriber of a radio communication network.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable changing service quality by monitoring the availability of communication system resources, selecting a user who receives the change of communication service and changing at least one kind of property in communication service to be provided to the user. SOLUTION: A base station 84 detects latent property in the overload of a system or the resources with respect to the users inside a circle 98. Then the user who performs access to a database 106 and downgrades a service class is identified or selected. A mobile station receives an alert message transmitted by the base station 84 on a forward channel and executes affirmative response on a reverse channel, such as a reverse traffic channel or a control channel. The mobile station and the base station adapt a new parameter, change the service class, and then return to a normal operation. When the resources to be usable are increased, a similar process is used in order to upgrade the service class of the user to be the higher one.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the compatibility and the capability of the network by taking the opportunity of software delivery processing by configuring the method such that manybase stations taking part in speeches conduct communication to control the performance and the speech quality by using the opportunity of software delivery processing so as to match the setting of a frame error rate(FER) of the network. SOLUTION: An FER control system 206 receives FER setting data from interconnection processors 214, 224 for base stations. During the software delivery processing, a base station sends a delivery request to a mobile exchange center 102 so that the mobile exchange center 102 can assign a resource to other base station. The FER control system 206 decides the setting of an FER that is most limitless to a speech. The FER control system 206 matches FER requests potentially not compatible for a prescribed speech for the base stations in the delivery state. The FER setting is delivered to all base stations taking part in the speeches as the FER setting applicable to the speeches.
