    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TFR filter circuit in which more excellent evenness of of the pass band can be accomplished while expanding the bandwidth. SOLUTION: Between an input and an output of the circuit, the filter has a plurality of thin film resonator elements(TFR) constituting a plurality of serial branches and shunt branches, the plurality of TFR elements have a set of resonance frequencies and electrode capacitance, a set of electrode capacitance of at least one TFR element among the serial branches ad the shunt branches is different from the electrode capacitance of the TFR elements of the other corresponding serial branches and shunt branches, and a set of resonance frequencies of at least one TFR element among the serial branches and shunt branches is different from the electrode capacitance of the TFR elements of the other corresponding serial branches and shunt branches.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a homodyne radio receiver using a low intermediate frequency for an orthogonal signal by demodulating an applied signal by means of a specified frequency and recovering an IF signal corresponding to a base band signal which is demodulated by means of the specified frequency. SOLUTION: The outputs of demodulators 70 and 75 are respectively supplied to elements 80 and 85. In them, input signals are multiplied by Wi and results are integrated over one signal period. That is, the demodulators 70 and 75 are used for demodulating an added (transmitted) signal corresponding to the base band signal of a band width ωA which is modulated by the signal having the frequency ωc. By the demodulators 70 and 75, the added (transmitted) signal is demodulated by the frequency ωLO (ωc+ωA>ωLO>ωc-ωA and also ωLO≠ωc) so that the IF signal corresponding to the base band signal which is demodulated by the frequency ωIF=ωc-ωLO is obtained.

This is accomplished by judiciously placing the spectral nulls over the critical sections of the signal spectrum, ensuring that the self-interference is minimized. As an example, a direct-sequence CDMA signal that was constructed with not more than one half the available Walsh functions is demodulated directly by placing the intermediate frequency such that spectral nulls in the CDMA signal overlap the spectral peaks in the desired signal, thereby eliminating the self-interference. This single-ended homodyne receiver can be implemented using either integrated or discrete components.

    Abstract: Wireless telecommunications apparatus comprises a base station and a user terminal. The base station sends data to the user terminal on a first channel (DL1) at a first frequency (f1) in selected time slots and the user terminal sends data to the base station on a second channel (UL2) at a second frequency (f2) in selected time slots. These two frequencies are different. The network also either includes a transmitter which transmits further data to the user equipment on a shared channel (DL0) at a third frequency (f0) in time slots in which the other data is not being sent or includes a receiver which receives further data from the user equipment on a shared channel at the third frequency in time slots in which the other data is not being sent. The apparatus can be a UMTS or other third generation system.
