    Abstract: An apparatus for producing fluorescent lamps comprises an intermittently rotatable turret having a plurality of glass tube supporting arms extending radially from the turret. The apparatus is so arranged that a plurality of glass tubes supported from the supporting arms are simultaneously subjected to working operations such as heating, bending, evacuation, filling, sealing etc. at a plurality of stations in each of which a plurality of glass tubes are subjected to the same working operation to improve the productivity of the apparatus.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To safety manufacture an annular fluorescent lamp at a high speed by using a mercury contained metal capsule for controlling the quantity of sealed mercury. CONSTITUTION:A stem 9 with an exhaust pipe 8 is sealed on the end of the bulb 7 of an annular fluorescent lamp and a metal capsule 5 is hooked and housed in the exhaust pipe 8. A concave 10 and a collar 11 for holding the bulb are provided at the sealing section of the bulb 7 over all circumferences when the annular fluorescent lamp is molded. Part of this collar 11 is enclosed by the high frequency heating coil 12 of a high frequency induction heater. The metal capsule 5 is high-frequency-heated and opened, and mercury 4 is sealed in the bulb 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent irregularly filled mercury amount in a capsule of metal containing mercury attached to an annular fluorescent lamp by filling inert gas from one side of a linear bulb attached with the capsule and heating the bulb while cooling the capsule to thereby prevent the capsule from damaging. CONSTITUTION:A linear bulb 6' disosed at the electrode mount 5 having an evacuation side fine tube 1, filament 12, or the like at upside and at the electrode mount 5' having opposite evacuation side fine tube 3, metal capsule 8 codntaining mercury inserted into the fine tube 3, filament 12', or the like at downside is inserted into a holder 2. The fine tube 3 is then inserted through the inner passage 7 of a nitrogen gas feeding post 4 to feed the gas into the bult 6 and also inserted into a heating furnace to heat at 600 to 800 deg.C. Then, the bult is formed in annular shape by an annular mold (not shown). The capsule 8 is always cooled by the nitrogen gas to cause no breakage. The bulb 6 is then completed at the later predetermined steps.
